Dr. Rieder and Dr. Kager: The beauty docs talk about "pillow faces" and intimate surgery
The duo has created a beautiful practice in the Viennese 1st district (Naglergasse 9). From facelifts and liposuction to minimally invasive procedures such as vampire-needling and labia reduction, the specialists and their team are always on hand to help their patients.
As soon as you enter the practice, you can feel the relaxation that this place exudes. From the waiting room to the treatment rooms, everything here revolves around the wishes of the patients, who come "from all age groups," as Dr. Rieder and Dr. Karger tell L'Officiel Austria in an interview. In addition, they notice a trend towards natural beauty as well as well-being, which makes the inside and outside radiant and inspired the doctor duo to develop their own supplements.
From PRP facials - so-called vampire needling - which is carried out with plasma from the patient's own blood, to more recent phenol peelings, the specialists are well equipped in terms of "happy aging". Especially the phenol peeling is an innovation that is new in Vienna. These are chemical peelings, which are particularly suitable for the reduction of wrinkles on the face. Phenol peels are typically used to treat deep wrinkles, sun damage and acne scars, and can be an effective treatment for improving the overall texture and color of the skin.
Facelifts still have a bad image. How do you see it? How do you achieve optimal results?
Dr. Rieder: "You don't see a well-done face lift because the scars are well hidden. The stiff, puffy faces are those that are overfilled with hyaluron. At the world congresses for aesthetic surgery, you see beautiful results that have nothing to do with this."
Dr. Kager: "The facelift removes what is called 'sagging,' removes the excess skin and lifts the contours back up. What's most important is that it doesn't create those cat eyes."
This approach probably also makes you one of the insider tips among surgeons here in Vienna!
Dr. Rieder: "Those who come to us can identify with our philosophy. Accordingly, the patients know that no one is standing on the street with a 'pillow' face. [laughs] It is important to find out what is desired and we then give feedback on how and whether this goal can be achieved. It is important to take into account what has already been done in the past. Because you can't build on something that's already not an optimal result!"
Keyword skin density! To build this up, you work successfully in your practice with PRP facials, which is performed with plasma from the patient's own blood ...
Dr. Kager: "Yes exactly! But also with nanofat that we inneedle or the skin can be strengthened by high-quality collagen to drink. With patients who have just had surgery, you notice that the elasticity of the skin is much better."
"You don't get up in the morning and say 'I'm going to get my labia reduced' because it's trendy right now."
But apart from aesthetic surgery that you see, there are also those that you do not see. You have already mentioned intimate surgery ...
Dr. Rieder: "Exactly. That almost always concerns the inner labia, which are greatly enlarged and which are operated on. But I have to say that I always get annoyed when they say vaginal surgery is trending right now. Awareness has increased and now women come to us with disproportionate labia, who often have pain when sitting and/or inflammation, etc. There's so much that's personal that often comes with a journey of suffering and has nothing to do with a 'trend' in the traditional sense."
Such a procedure in the intimate area is, after all, fraught with a certain amount of shame for many!
Dr. Rieder: "Very often. On average, patients think about it for five years before they decide to take the step. Through the Internet or the media, many also know that they are not the only ones. That's why the number of procedures in this area is increasing, because in the past there was simply a lack of awareness. You don't get up in the morning and say 'I'm going to have my labia reduced' because it's trendy."
Dr. Kager: "Last week, one of my patients came in after surgery, gave me a hug and told me she was very happy with a whole new self-awareness of her body."
Dr. Rieder: "Or we had another patient who got a job after surgery simply because she had more confidence, as she reported. The effects of a labiaplasty or intimate surgery are very different and the motives don't always revolve 'just' around sexuality, as you might think."
