Loewe Fall/Winter 2025: A Collector's Vision

Jonathan Anderson's Fall/Winter 2025 collection for Loewe is a captivating scrapbook of ideas, blending familiar Loewe codes with unexpected artistic influences. Inspired by the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, the collection juxtaposes old and new, drawing inspiration from the Albers' exploration of color and form.

Josef Albers's “Homage to the Square” series inspires a playful reimagining of Loewe’s iconic Puzzle, Flamenco, and Amazona bags, while Anni Albers's pictorial weavings bring a graphic tactility to coats and bags.

The collection is a seamless fusion of womenswear and menswear, challenging conventional notions of gender and style. Leather is spliced and draped, jersey dresses are sculpted into unexpected forms, and familiar wardrobe staples are transformed into surprising hybrids.  Anderson plays with scale, juxtaposing micro-elements with blown-up details, creating a sense of playful distortion. Prince of Wales checks liquefy into metallic fringes, beaded organza gives the illusion of transparency, and surface treatments add unexpected texture.

The show space itself was a curated experience, transforming the Hôtel de Maisons into a series of themed rooms showcasing the collection alongside works from Loewe’s art collection, creating an immersive journey through Anderson's creative vision. The result is a collection that is both familiar and utterly unexpected, a testament to Loewe’s commitment to innovative design and artistic collaboration.
