Magda Butrym Fall/Winter 2025: A Self-Portrait in Fabric

Magda Butrym’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, “Magdalena,” is a deeply personal journey, a self-portrait woven into exquisite fabrics.

Inspired by Polish poetry and the tactile artistry of knitwear, the collection transcends mere clothing; it’s an exploration of texture and emotion.  Intricate loom weaving, a nod to Butrym’s heritage, transforms artisanal dresses into sculptural masterpieces. A striking crimson mini dress contrasts with ethereal open-knit tutus, while the show-stopping finale – a cloud-like crochet wedding dress – embodies a sensual, empowered femininity.

The collection's duality is captivating: modern practicality meets dreamy romanticism.  Shearling coats are effortlessly layered over luxe tracksuits, while vibrant floral headscarves, a nod to Slavic heritage, add a touch of playful boldness. Sculpted black dresses inspired by traditional Polish silhouettes exude an understated elegance.

The immersive show space mirrored this duality. Two hundred meters of hand-woven fabric, suspended from the ceiling, created an ethereal atmosphere, enhancing the collection's otherworldly beauty. “Magdalena” is a fearless exploration of self, revealing Butrym’s artistry in a way that is both instantly recognizable and breathtakingly new.
