Perfumes that make our world go round in 2021 | A selection of L'Officiel Austria Editors

A breath, a note. Fragrances often accompany us through everyday life, which we hardly notice and yet they are always omnipresent. You can find a very personal selection of the favourite fragrances of the L'Officiel Austria Crew here.

Life Threads by La Prairie

"I came across this perfume by chance, it's not a well-known brand like Chanel or Dior, but as soon as I smelled it I knew I wanted it. It's the perfume I've been looking for for years. It has a classy vanilla note but still goes with any occasion. Whether I'm going to a fancy event or just meeting up with my friends, Life Threads makes me feel more confident and exudes that."

Gift from Anno1555

"For me, there was a particularly exciting perfume discovery this year. Geschein is a very successful attempt to capture the incomparable scent of the vine blossom. The idea came from Werner Hauser, a winemaker from Poysdorf, who engaged the Parisian perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer. Rarely has a perfume thrilled me so much, as it develops over several hours and brings out all the facets of its notes like a melodious chord. Unobtrusive yet present, cross-genre, and revolutionary. Arguably the first time muscat is set with oud and bergamot in a melange that couldn't be more intriguing."

L'Imperatrice by Dolce&Gabbana

"My favourite perfume is L'Imperatrice by Dolce&Gabbana. I think you either love it or hate it. For me, it's the ideal perfume for warm days - it smells light, sweet, floral, and for me personally very feminine, although it's actually a unisex perfume. A white shirt, white jeans, and this perfume make the perfect combination for me."

Libre by Yves Saint Laurent

"For evening or winter, I prefer Libre by Yves Saint Laurent. This perfume is full of character - very expressive and rather intense. Whenever I accidentally get the perfume on my nose during the day, it reminds me of how strong I am. I would love to smell like this all my life."

Gabrielle by Chanel

"With its lightness, Gabrielle by Chanel is the perfect perfume to accompany you for years. Classically feminine but never overloaded. The bottle is also an absolute eye-catcher, beautifully embodying the Maison's design signature. Chanel's signature jasmine is used excellently here and is beguiling with bergamot, ylang-ylang, and sandalwood."

Illusione For Her by Bottega Veneta

"One of my current favourites is Illusione For Her by Bottega Veneta. I was immediately struck by the simple elegance of the bottle. Square glass with a colour gradient and a cap reminiscent of amber, it already makes you feel special, and that's before you've actually experienced the fragrance. Sophisticated chic would probably be the best description. But now to the most important: bergamot and blackcurrant are the top notes of Illusione, while olive wood and tonka bean form the base. The freshness comes from orange blossom and fig leaves. Basically, it's a floral fragrance, but a woody note adds a certain depth that sets the perfume apart from many others. All in all, Italy to smell."
