Runway Vienna celebrates Runway Fashion Day
Under the motto "Renaissance", the traditional Runway Fashion Days of CEO and founder of the concept store Runway Vienna, Alexis Fernandez Gonzalez, took place on the 06thof September at the Palais Wertheim in the first district. A much-loved tradition at the beginning of fashion month and a perfect occasion for the businessman to invite his closest customers and friends to an glamorous cocktail. There was a lot to celebrate this year - especially the birth of the first own fashion collection of the Multibrand store. Together with his right hand Katharina Schlegl, who stands behind the label KMoje, a collection of 19 evening dresses was ceremoniously presented to the illustrious crowd of guests. Opulent tulle, architectural cuts and expansive silhouettes in intense colours - a debut with numerous showpieces. "It's great to see what extraordinary creations the young designer has shown on the catwalk today," says Austrian society-lady Kathi Stumpf about the collection.
Promoting young talent was in general one of the big buzzwords of the evening, because besides all the glamour, Fernandez Gonzalez wanted to bring up more serious topics in the festive setting and so the platform was used to support young Paralympic athletes. For this good cause a robe from the collection and a "Fashion Dress" designed by artist Gorica Jeremic will be auctioned off. An idea that was enthusiastically received by star guest Giusy Versace, among others. The niece of Gianni and Donatella Versace lost both legs in a car accident in 2005 and fought her way back into life after this stroke of fate, not least thanks to the sport: "I am very happy to be here in Vienna today. Alexis Fernandez Gonzalez has created something very special with his Fashion Day - he combines extraordinary fashion with a good cause tonight. Fashion is a great way to attract attention, which is especially important for the Paralympics. I, too, am a fashion-loving Paralympic athlete and try to be a role model for young people and convey the message to them that a disability is not a reason to hide, but an opportunity to redesign life! With the auction of the artistically designed evening dresses these special people can be promoted, a wonderful thing!
