Human Design: What's Behind The Spiritual Trend?

The spiritual trend around Human Design is on the rise. But what is Human Design and what does it say about me?

Human Design Trend is on

Human Design is a spiritual system that reveals each person's personal and energetic nature. With this knowledge we receive an individual strategy for our life path. Human Design helps us to see who we really are.

The way we master our lives is different and unique from person to person. Be it challenges, projects, relationships with other people or the choices we make: Everyone acts in a different way based on their skills, talents, knowledge and, ultimately, their nature. This makes our world more colourful and diverse.

The system consists of elements of esotericism, astrology, Kabbalah, I Ching and chakra teachings. It also incorporates genetics, biochemistry and quantum physics.

How does Human Design help us?

Sometimes we get stuck in situations, don't know what to do or feel lost. We often compare ourselves to others and don't understand why something works better or worse for others than it does for us. Human Design helps us to understand why we are currently stuck and how we can get out of this situation. When we live in harmony with our Human Design type, many things are easier for us and we are generally happier and more satisfied.

This is because every person is born with certain potentials, energies, behavioural patterns, intrinsic motivations and purpose in life that do not change over the course of their lives. If we are aware of what makes us tick, we can specifically nurture these characteristics and habits and use them to harmonise our life path.

This system is actually ingrained in us from childhood. Over time, however, experiences, bureaucratic hurdles, blunt arguments, or social and external influences force us into a uniform conformity. We have to bend ourselves into something we are not and feel uncomfortable with. Human Design brings us back to our origins, to our own authentic personality.

You can read personal characteristics from the Human Design Chart

How does Human Design work?

Based on various data - such as the place, day and exact time of our birth - a Human Design chart is created and our personal Human Design type is determined.

There are 5 different types:

  • Projectors: These are the perfect coordinators. Projectors see through people and systems instantly and are good at creating goals and objectives.
  • Generator: They are hardworking doers and get work done that is too much for others. When they enjoy their work, they have an incredible amount of energy.
  • Manifestor: Manifestors are alpha animals. They ooze authority and assertiveness.
  • Manifesting Generators: The impatience of the Manifestor and the work ethic of the Generator are just two of the many mixed characteristics of the Manifesting Generator.
  • Reflectors: Reflectors are almost as rare in the world as unicorns. They are very sensitive and very aware of external influences and energies.

The nine centres are also found on the Human Design Chart.

These are:

  1. Crown centre: Inspiration, Thought
  2. Ajna centre: Mind
  3. Throat centre: Expression, transformation
  4. G centre: Identity
  5. Heart centre: Ego, willpower
  6. Spleen centre: Instinct, immune system
  7. Solar plexus/emotional centre: feelings, emotions
  8. Sacral centre: expressiveness, life force
  9. Root centre: strength, energy

These nine centres are connected by 36 channels and are shown on the diagram as different coloured lines: The black lines mean that we are aware of these channels within ourselves. We are not aware of the red channels and they are perceived by others (and we only become aware of them when they are communicated to us). The red and black dashed lines show a mixture of the two.

"Follow your strategy, honor your authority, love yourself." - Ra Uru Hu (Founder of Human Design)

The channels also connect the 64 Gates of Human Design. The nine centres contain numbers that can be assigned to the Gates. If they have a coloured background and an active channel connects two opposite Gates, you can read more specific characteristics of the character.

The 6 lines and 12 profiles can be used to identify further characteristics. A profile is made up of 6 lines. The first number is conscious and the second number is unconscious. The lines come from the hexagrams of the I Ching (ancient Chinese oracle) and reflect the person's role in life. A profile combines two characteristics and results in a combination of two numbers (e.g.: 5/1 the exploring hero).

The 6 lines are

  • Row 1 - Researcher: stable foundation, security, strives for knowledge
  • Row 2 - Hermit: natural talents, needs retreat
  • Line 3 - Activist: likes to experiment
  • Line 4 - Networker: social contacts are very important
  • Line 5 - Heretic: problem solving and a strong sense of helping others
  • Line 6 - Role model: seeks meaning and fulfilment in life

Human Design focuses on personality development. And this spiritual tool hits the spirit of time for a happy and fulfilled life.
