L'Officiel Austria Speaks to Model and DJane, Marzia Dorlando.
Marzia Dorlando is an Italian model living in Milan. She is now embarking upon her DJ career and summarises her future plans for L'Officiel Austria.
Modeling, being a DJane and having your own e-cigarette company. How do you manage to reconcile everything?
It’s definitely not easy to reconcile everything I do, modeling, DJing and now my e cigarette company, but I love being busy and doing many things. I’m a workaholic and my jobs keeps me happy! To be honest I don’t sleep much because I’m always doing something! And I feel like I’ve just started. I want to do so many more things.
How did you become a DJane?
I became a DJane at age 17, I was still going to school but I had lots of friends who were DJing and I asked them to teach me just for fun. I would have never thought that it was going to be my profession. I love being at the club and get the party going specially when my friends are coming to see me.
What will you focus on in the future?
In the future I want to focus on opening other companies! I graduated in business at UCLA dreaming about having multiple companies. Probably having a hotel chain and gyms. I would love to open a fast food restaurant as well. For now, I’m definitely going to still do music and DJing!
Do you have someone who inspires you in the music scene?
My inspiration in the music scene is definitely DJ Paul Kalkbrenner, he was the reason why I started to be a DJ! I watch his biographical documentary on how music changed his life and inspired me as well. I also follow many girls who are DJ Like Peggy Gou, and I’m happy that women are taking over as well, it’s important for young girls to see that they can be and do everything they want! Us women we can do it all.
Which is your favourite club to DJ in, and which is the club of your dreams?
I’ve Djed almost everywhere in the world but I think the one place that I didn’t have the opportunity and I really want to play at is Ushuaia in Ibiza, it’s my favorite club and all my favorite Djs had shows there. I spend every summer in Ibiza and Mykonos so that is another place where I would love to have residency at.
