H&M x Rabanne: A Collection That Gives The Grey Winter The Necessary Shimmer
After the last highly anticipated luxury house collaboration, H&M is bringing its next partner on board: Rabanne. The collection, which will be launched from 9th November, includes not only women's and men's fashion, but this time also exclusive items for your home.
A collaboration characterised by futuristic design and innovative craftsmanship
The collection is based on the iconic creations of the late founder Paco Rabanne from the 1960s, which have been revitalised by creative director Julien Dassena since 2013. The Rabanne H&M collection adds a new dimension to the revolutionary style designed for the dance floor, combining the iconic chainmail and glittering sequins with casual sportswear and sophisticated cuts.
Womenswear
The most important pieces in the women's collection include two-piece dresses made of metallic mesh and mirrored sequin dresses as well as romantic chiffon dresses decorated with rhinestones and leopard-print jersey dresses.
Menswear
In the menswear collection, on the other hand, sharp silver suits and metallic mesh waistcoats are causing a stir alongside luxurious loungewear.
Accessoires
In terms of accessories, Rabanne's iconic sequin and metallic mesh bags are in the spotlight, as well as western-style boots and sequinned pool slides.
H&M-Home Collection
Known since the 1960s for his radically futuristic creations in plastic and metal, Rabanne remains at the forefront of cutting-edge design and contemporary craftsmanship. The H&M HOME collection, a sophisticated addition to the women's and men's fashion and accessories ranges, is the most comprehensive interior design offering to date from an H&M designer collaboration.
The collection is kept in the house's characteristic metallic colours and is complemented by geometric prints inspired by the 1970s. Metal furniture with sculptural accessories and high quality fabrics catch the eye. The collection is crafted from durable, high-quality fabrics, with premium leather and wool used in accessories, outerwear, suits and knitwear. For the first time at H&M and Rabanne, the house's iconic metal nets are made from both recycled and conventional metal - the result of months of development. The embellished pieces are decorated with recycled PET sequins and recycled glass rhinestones.
"Whilst this was my first experience of designing homeware and objects, our founder Paco Rabanne designed some iconic metal furniture in the 1970s, so this collection of furnishings felt like an authentic extension to the home," says Julien Dossena, Creative Director of Rabanne.
