The Burj Khalifa, an architectural masterpiece, dominates Dubai's skyline. This iconic building transcends the definition of a skyscraper, reaching immense heights and setting new standards in human engineering and design. At an impressive 828 metres, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world and a symbol of Dubai's ambition and progressive spirit. Completed in 2010, its construction was a feat that highlighted the combined efforts of thousands of skilled workers and visionary minds. The sheer scale and meticulous planning required for its realisation reflect a fusion of artistry and technical skill.
What makes the Burj Khalifa an architectural marvel is not only its extraordinary height but also its innovative design. The most popular tourist attractions are the observation decks on the 124th, 125th and 148th floors. Access to the lifts leading to the Burj Khalifa viewing platforms is from the Dubai Mall - one of the largest shopping malls in the world. The platforms offer breathtaking views of the cityscape and clearly show the impressive scale of the Dubai Mall from above.
The Burj Khalifa is a reflection of the United Arab Emirates' engineering expertise. However, it is only a matter of time before the Burj Khalifa is no longer the tallest building in the world. Emaar Properties (the company that built the Burj Khalifa) is currently building a new, even taller building: the Dubai Creek Tower. It will be between 928 and 1,400 metres high. However, as construction has currently been halted, it is not yet possible to estimate when this building will be completed. Until then, the Burj Khalifa will remain the tallest building.
