Eventtipp: Schlossbergball 2020

A stylish fusion between a ball and summer party awaits guests at the Schlossberg Ball. Organizer Ingo Reinhardt explains the dynamics behind the concept.

The ball is a relatively young event - what makes the evening special?
Two of its many facets stand out. First, the location. Where else is it possible to celebrate the beginning of summer on a mountain high above the rooftops of the city, yet in the middle of the city? Second, our audience. The mixture between a traditi- onal ball and a party is also mirrored within the eclectic mixture of our guests.

Which target group do you want to address?
Everybody is welcome! Our guests are as unique as the ball itself. We do not focus on special target groups but “enthusiastic and optimistic connoisseurs” would be an appropriate definition.

What can you tell us about the programme?
Starting at 6 pm, the incomparable mix of ball and summer party begins at the “Entrée” of the valley station. Once at Schloßberg, guests are greeted on the “Red Car- pet Piazza” and escorted to the “Kasematten Ballroom”. At a later hour the ballroom transforms into a cool club. There is also a “pleasure garden”, a restaurant and another dance floor in the Sky Bar.

Do you have more freedom when it comes to design if you eliminate the structure of a centuries-old tradition?
The “basic structure” of a classic ball can still be found at the Schlossbergball, but we have the opportunity to loosen up the otherwise tight-laced ball corset a little.
