The world of gastronomy is as diverse as the people who inhabit it. From exotic spices to traditional dishes - the culinary choice on our planet is almost inexhaustible. We take you on a culinary journey around the world.

Asia: A continent of contrasts

Asia is the largest continent in the world and holds a diverse range of delights in its countries. Here you can also find an incredible selection of exotic fruits and vegetables. In general, Asian cuisine is known for its health-conscious, low-fat and low-sugar diet. 

In Southeast Asia, noodles, soybeans (also in the form of soy sauce or soy paste), rice, poultry, vegetables, fish and seafood are almost basic kitchen staples. 

In Japan, everything revolves around sushi and sashimi. Fresh fish, perfectly prepared and served with rice, is a true delicacy. The artful presentation and the use of wasabi and soy sauce give the creations a unique touch. 

Thai cuisine likes to use spicy condiments. The national dish Pad Thai has an accurate flavour composition. This noodle dish consists of rice noodles, egg, tofu or chicken and various spices such as chilli, lime and coriander. 

The cuisine of the Near East is also impressive. It likes to use oriental spices such as cumin, allspice, turmeric, cloves or cardamom. 

In Arab countries, they especially like to cook with lamb and beef. They serve beans, hummus and pita bread with it. 

Indian curry is the national dish. Whether with vegetables, tofu or chicken - it is prepared in all possible variations. Other characteristic ingredients are coconut milk, tomatoes and pulses such as lentils or chickpeas.

Europe: The cradle of gourmets

Europe is known for its culinary sophistication and long history in the art of cooking. Italy is home to the best pasta, pizza and delicious antipasti. The impressive variety of Italy's regional cuisine ranges from creamy carbonara in Rome to spicy ragù in Naples.

France is not only the land of haute couture but also of haute cuisine. Delicate sauces, tender fillets and aromatic cheeses. Coq au vin (poultry dish) and crème brûlée are just two examples of French masterpieces in the kitchen. Selected wines from the region round off the perfect dinner.

Spain, on the other hand, tempts with tapas, paella and also an excellent selection of wines. The combination of fresh seafood, saffron rice and a pinch of paprika makes Spanish paella hearts beat faster.

In England, people enjoy English Breakfast with sausages, beans and black tea. An absolute classic with the British is fish and chips. The dish consists of deep-fried fish and chips. The quality of the fish is very important. Good pubs and restaurants use fresh cod or haddock. The fish is then deep-fried in beer batter. Other side dishes include mashed peas, pickled cucumbers or onions.

The Balkans shine with hearty specialities. A popular dish is Ćevapčići, served with ajvar, onions and flatbread. But sarma (cabbage rolls), various burek versions and ražnjići (grilled meat skewers) are also popular.

Africa: Exotic flavours

The African continent offers a fascinating mix of exotic flavours and traditional ways of preparing food. Ethiopian cuisine, for example, surprises with injera, a sour flatbread that doubles as a plate. It is served with various meat and vegetable sauces flavoured with spices like berbere. 

Moroccan cuisine is famous for its couscous, tajine and spicy condiments. The unique interplay of sweet and savoury flavours gives each dish its special pleasure.

Middle and South America: Fiery Passion

In Middle and South America, you can look forward to intense taste experiences. Mexican cuisine delights with tacos, enchiladas, arepas and guacamole. The combination of fresh vegetables, hot chillies and creamy avocado is irresistible. 

Argentina is all about juicy steaks from the grill, accompanied by chimichurri sauce and grilled vegetables. The meat from Argentinian cattle is considered to be of high quality and particularly tender.

Australia: Freshness from the sea

When locals in Australia invite you to one of their famous barbecues, this is an opportunity not to be missed. In addition to beef or lamb, kangaroo and emu meat, vegetables, sausages and prawns are also grilled. The connection to England is also evident in the food: People in Australia also enjoy fish and chips - preferably on bathing days as a snack on the beach.
