Andaz Prague: The new luxury hotel in the Czech capital

In the heart of Prague, a new hotel gem from the Hyatt Group opened in March 2022. The Andaz Prague has created a place for itself in the centre of the magical city, with restaurant ZEM and bar MEZ as well as spa by Klara Rott.

Sweet as sugar? In any case, the occasion was the laying of the foundation stone of the historic building. In 1912, the architects Josef Zasch and Theodor Fischer built the house in the classicist style for the insurance company of the sugar industry next to the famous Jindřišská clock tower. In the middle of a time when the Habsburg monarchy still dominated and shaped the Czech capital.

What you find at Andaz Prague - a concept by Park Hyatt is luxury that shines above all in its perfect service. Unobtrusive, authentic, atmospheric. Whether in the lobby or in the suites and rooms.

The hotel interior was designed by Madrid-based studio Brime Robbins, who was inspired by the rich Czech history. The famous story "The Golem" was also incorporated. Art Nouveau elements, for which Prague has become so famous worldwide, also shine here. The smallest details have been "preserved" for posterity.

Bohemian luxury, reflected in the myths and legends that make this city so unique, is also the essence of Andaz Prague. But while we are on the subject of the essence: This is formed above all by the service. From the welcome drink in the reception area to the bartender in the MEZ Bar - it's as if you've already been a guest here. We don't want to unpack the overused "guest at a friend's house" again here, but it always comes to mind.

Relaxing in luxury - the Klara Rott Spa

The Czech natural cosmetics brand Klara Rott is represented here with a spa, whose products can also be found in all hotel rooms and suites. A sauna, steam bath, and fitness room await hotel guests in the spa. In addition, there are facial and body treatments specially designed for the hotel.

A hotel for all senses

The ZEM restaurant is one of the best new places in Prague to experience fine dining. And in what is probably the "most casual" way. In the unbelievably stylish ambiance, you experience cuisine that oscillates between Asian and Czech delicacies.

Afterward, in between or before, you can enjoy drinks and cocktails designed by mixologist Daniel Prokeš in the adjacent MEZ Bar.

The L'Officiel Austria tips for an artful stay in Prague

  • National Gallery Prague: In this impressive, modern building from 1976 - formerly used for trade fairs, different epochs of art history are displayed on several floors. In addition to changing exhibitions in Contemporary Art, often in combination with digital art, you can find interesting insights into the emergence of Czech art and its protagonists, as well as Prague's role as a centre of the Boheme at the beginning of 1900.
  • NOOKART Studio: Not far from Wenceslas Square, you will find an eclectic selection of modern art here. From paintings to sculptures or photographs - Eliska Komistek and Michaela Mell have been curating this flat since last year, which is not only intended to make the pieces tangible but also to give buyers the opportunity to experience the art in an intimate atmosphere.
Currently on view: Photographs by Bara Prasilova. The Hasselblad photographer presented her book debut at NOOKART Studio.

  • Rudolfinum Gallery: The historic building of the Rudolfinum with its concert hall for classical music on the banks of the Vltava is located directly in Prague's city centre and is worth a visit in itself, but what happens here off the stage should be experienced. With the space-consuming, tangible installations by Jiří Příhoda in the exhibition "Void", the Rudolfinum Gallery, which is integrated into the building, has once again put itself on the map of the Czech art scene.
  • Campus Hybernska: In the middle of Prague's city centre, young Czech art has recently created a refuge here that is a must-see. In addition to exhibition spaces, there is a café, a picturesque inner courtyard and events - made possible by a collaboration between the city of Prague and Charles University.

The L'Officiel Austria tips for a stylish stay in Prague

  • Red Salon Praha: A mixture of hair salon and concept store is the Red Salon in the heart of Prague.
  • The Room by Basmatee: Street style in a form that is rarely found. The Room by Basmatee strives to roam the international realms. The emphasis is on the "softer" sounds of urban streetwear. For example, you can find limited editions that are rarely seen in this composition. How good that you don't have to travel to Prague to enjoy them - there is also an online store.
  • 100CLASS Concept Store: Pure minimalism is the order of the day here.
