150 years of Hotel Imperial: A palace characterised by history, luxury and tradition
The perfect harmony of history, tradition, luxury and romance - a truly majestic mix that only exists in this form in Vienna. This is the Hotel Imperial. For its 150th anniversary, L'Officiel Austria presents the iconic hotel.
Built as the private residence of the Duke of Württemberg, the sovereign palace on Vienna's magnificent Ringstrasse was transformed into the Hotel Imperial Wien for the 1873 World's Fair. Precious antiques, stylish furniture, walls draped in silk and marble bathrooms convey the spirit of 19th century Vienna. In the Café Imperial Wien, guests are served classic Viennese specialities, including the exquisite Imperial Torte. The multi-award-winning OPUS restaurant is considered a jewel in the ranks of the world's best gourmet temples. The social heart of the hotel is the glamorous Imperial Bar, where music lovers can experience unforgettable live jazz and piano evenings.
ROOMS & SUITES
138 rooms and suites, furnished with original paintings, antiques, stucco ceilings and the finest fabrics, reveal an impressive ambience for the most discerning guests. Opulent décor and precious art treasures harmonise with the lovingly coordinated interior. Dedicated staff are on hand day and night to ensure an unforgettable stay in an imperial atmosphere. In addition, you will be looked after by your personal butler on request - Viennese charm included!
CULINARY & SERVICES
The culinary-perfect day begins with a feudal breakfast at Café Imperial Vienna. Here, mainly Austrian specialities are served from 7 am to 11 pm: Tafelspitz, Kaiserschmarren, apple strudel and the best Wiener Schnitzel in town - baked golden brown in clarified butter! To crown the day, we recommend an exquisite dinner in the gourmet restaurant OPUS, awarded 3 Gault&Millau toques. Accompanied by live piano music, the evening is brought to a musically charming conclusion with a visit to the Imperial Bar Wien.
One thing that cannot be missed during a visit to the Imperial Hotel is the Imperial Torte. Legend has it that a kitchen boy invented the Imperial Torte on the occasion of the opening of the Hotel Imperial in honour of His Majesty Emperor Franz Joseph I. Whether in our Imperial Torte Boutique or at www.imperialtorte.at, a selection of the finest confectionery awaits you: handmade and carefully sealed in the Imperial house, the Imperial Torte sets off from Vienna on its journey around the world.
