Ever since photos of the set of the new Barbie movie surfaced, there has been a resurgence of the Barbiecore aesthetic. However, the Barbiecore trend is not only about neon pink and plastic, but also about the popular Barbie doll from the 1990s.

Throughout the Milan Design Week, (5-10 September 2021) Maison Valentino introduced a special installation in the Via Montenapoleone boutique. The shop windows and interiors drew their inspiration from the world of theatre, the protagonist of the Valentino ACT show, and the new campaign’s images.

Sylvie Utudjian travelled to Venice for Valentino's haute couture show, which heralded a new generation of catwalk spectacle. Magical! These words can describe the Valentino Haute Couture Show in Venice, which included the lagoon city as a silent actor. However, the picturesque backdrop chosen was not a palace, but a minimalist shipyard, which allowed the collection to come to the fore. 

The unusual interpretation for the 10th anniversary lets the typical studded head motif appear in a new guise: in a sculptural sole made of Maxi Rockstuds. This contributes not only to the design aesthetic but also to the functionality.
