Suit & Tie: Formale Eccezionale by ETRO
“One should either be a work of art or wear a work of art," quite enough accurate quote by Oscar Wilde that describes deep and refined suit-making craft. Back in the days when a man went to a tailor to get himself a costume that is going to serve him in sorrow and joy, he didn't have a world of color and pattern to choose. So every occasion, the group of black-suited people gathered around in a big depressive cloud.
Italians were never like that. And life for them is a celebration that needs to be represented in colors. That is why, since 1968, Etro has been following the tradition of precise tailoring and bourgeois aesthetics. And maybe we all need to add a little bit of "la dolce vita" to our wardrobe. A reinvention of the classical suit's definition is such an exciting movement that allows us to experience a fresh take on male fashion.
When is the best time to celebrate life if not in the summer? For the dancing on the beach in the loose shirt and sandals or a daily city rush in the sneakers - suit is an answer for everything. Influenced by this idea of a modern interpretation in menswear, Etro has created the "Formale Eccezionale" line made of four costumes to share their unique aesthetic.
Weekender – a deconstructed melange suit in three shades of blue with patch pockets and butterfly lining.
Etrogram – a half canvas suit characterized by a fine jacquard pinstripe featuring the Etro monogram.
Dreamer – an iconic all-over Paisley printed semi-traditional suit with the Eighties inspired jacket featuring large lapels;
Peacock – a deconstructed suit characterized by a Paisley motif and slightly padded shoulders.
A collection will be available in the Etro stores from the middle of June.
