Hermès: A new interpretation of the Arceau by Henri d'Origny
There is hardly a more beautiful and lasting gift than a wristwatch. What you give to your mother, your sister - or even yourself - is of course a question of budget, but above all a question of taste. Let yourself be inspired by this beautiful timepiece.
A new interpretation of the Arceau
Created in 1978 by Henri d'Origny, this watch, with its round case and asymmetrical stirrup-shaped lugs, embodies style in an entirely new way. A radiant motif originally created by Swiss artist Fred Rawyler for a silk carré is here reinterpreted in terms of depth and light, giving the Arceau Soleil a sunny face.
The sun's rays, which shine in light-dark gradations, underline the course of the fine needles in a hypnotic geometry. The diamond hour-markers set in ice create the illusion of floating above the dial, while a translucent blue or grey lacquer envelops the engraved motif in a mysterious aura.
Hermès creates objects
For Hermès, time is also an object. From the tension inherent in it, the Hermès house has created its uniqueness. Instead of measuring, classifying or controlling it, Hermès prefers to venture into a new time - a time that evokes emotions, takes detours and creates space for fantasy and relaxation. The French Maison has once again succeeded in doing so with this new interpretation.
