MBPFW: LAFORMELA - A success story made in Czech

One of the highlights of the Mercedes Benz Prague Fashion Week: the new collection by LAFORMELA.

It's a community of Prague creatives gathered in the backstage area of the LAFORMELA label in a hall of Pražská tržnice (The Prague Market) in the Holešovice district to show a collection that will be among the best of Mercedes Benz Prague Fashion Week this season. Outside, it's bubbling. A mix of friends, influencers, gallery owners (i.e. Nookart Studio founder Eliska Hradec Chomistekova), and art creators and artists (i.e. Michal Štochl, Katerina Zbortkova) have gathered. The buzz of an it-crowd is needed to make a label a coveted brand in the first place.

Backstage, things don't look much different. Veronika Čechmánková has already had a long day, as she tells us. The visual artist will open the show that day as the First Face, making her part of a collection that thrives on the tension between materials. The two LAFORMELA designers Miroslava Kohutiarova and Antonin Soukup worked with metal details for this and showed contemporary cuts as well as timeless silhouettes, which were styled into masterful looks by Jan Grombirik.

When asked about his inspirations, LAFORMELA designer Antonin Soukup responded after the show, "We draw our inspiration from LAFORMELA itself!" This is also evident in the unusual idea of offering a throwback to the last collection: Two handbags are present in the style of this one. A separate collaboration with sneakers from Adidas leaves the ground of high heels in between.

The LAFORMELA family is definitely a growing - and large, setting the tone with influence on the Czech fashion scene was accompanied by a musical set by Amelie Siba and Prokop Korb aka BadFocus.
