Elegant Craftsmanship: FENDI Men's Spring-Summer 2024
Fendi shows true craftsmanship in its Spring-Summer 2024 collection and unveils its new factory in Florence.
Surrounded by olive trees and idyllic hills, Silvia Venturini Fendi's creations were presented at the new Fendi factory in Capannuccia, Florence. The show leads through the light-flooded corridors of the factory past working people and machines that make the visions of the house a reality. And quite deliberately so. Because the symbiosis of man and machine is meant to express the connection between the past and the future. Fendi sees craftsmanship and industry as closely linked.
Elegant variety and light cuts
The Tuscan flair is reflected in the colours and fabrics: pleasant neutral tones dominate alongside traditional black, grey, beige and white. The collection features light summer wools and knitwear made from nettle fibres dyed with vegetable pigments of acacia, juniper, henna and poppy.
A tribute to craftsmanship
In keeping with craftsmanship, Fendi creates cotton and leather work belts and aprons that span the entire collection. But the Italian art of basketry is also honoured through FF tweed woven into cotton and linen shirts. Woven baskets, jacquard lunch bags and embroidered raffia bags shine in next summer's accessories collection.
The accessories series was complemented by a series of designs by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. He is known for his nature-based approach and practical use of natural raw materials. Kuma transfers his architectural principles to the Peekaboo, the Baguette Soft Trunk and the Flow Sneakers. He uses natural materials such as traditional Waranshi paper, woven bamboo, birch bark and Tusan olive wood.
