Dior: SS 2023 campaign inspired by Catherine de Medici
The regal and influential figure of Catherine de Medici inspires the new SS 23 Dior collection, crafted with a modern twist.
femininity, power, and grace
Celebrating femininity, power, and grace, the regal and influential figure of Catherine de Medici inspires creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The collection embodies a Renaissance of the timeless Dior style, crafted with a modern twist.
A unique dialogue between past and present.
With a wardrobe imbued with sovereign grace, the Dior spring-summer 2023 line pays tribute to women who lead with confidence and grace. The Dior SS 2023 collection is rich in light and dark colours on a clean green background. The dresses feature some classic Dior elements mixed with new style icons, such as an innovative corset that transforms the silhouette with its bold geometric shapes. Some skirts and dresses have also been revisited in dramatic proportions, while other details make the dresses more modern.
Dior Birds
The Dior Birds print triumphs in the SS23 collection, a bucolic composition inspired by the Japanese art movement and depicting little birds surrounded by floral decorations.
The Corset
Protagonist of the collection is the corset. The first, in fact, was actually introduced by Catherine de' Medici in France in 1500. A narrow, elongated model worn under clothes. The fashion house offers us a contemporary and glamorous version of the garment. We then find dresses, trousers and coats with an extremely romantic style. The unique needlework and artistry of the Old World inspire the Dior spring 2023 collection, which can also be found with stunning floral embroidery or a Plan de Paris sketch on the iconic Lady Dior bag and single versions of the Dior Book Tote. A timeless design is also featured in the new Dior Key bag, which has a retro influence and would be a perfect finishing touch to any outfit.
