German Model Agency: How Enzio Maggiore ended up at the top of the biz

Since 2005, Enzio Maggiore, founder of Enzio.M and 100 % Management, has been an integral part of the German, but also international, modelling industry. A trained eye, years of experience and valuable contacts have brought the agencies to where they are now.

The main task of the agencies Enzio.M and 100 % Management is to constantly discover new, interesting faces that find their place on the model market. What must not be forgotten in the process: one must not be tempted by money and fame. L'Officiel Austria found out how to prevent this and ensure professional model management in an interview with Enzio Maggiore

When did you start your agency and how did you get started?

Enzio Maggiore: "I founded the agency Enzio.M Management in April 2005. However, I only started in the international model business in 2012 with Anna Ewers."

How would you describe your agency business in three words?

Enzio Maggiore: "Our agency life is familiar, futuristic, and different."

What are you looking for when you are searching for new models?

Enzio Maggiore: "First of all, the requirements to be a model. However, aura and charisma are also incredibly important. The model has to bring that special something."

What are the biggest challenges of the modelling business?

Enzio Maggiore: "In recent years, definitely the fast pace and digitalization. You always have to have your finger on the pulse."

How will the industry change in the next few years?

Enzio Maggiore: "Due to the severe and imposed change, new normality broke out. The industry was suddenly turned upside down. We also felt this and our talents could not travel, or only to a very limited extent. Our clients had to rethink and resort to local shooting locations and talents in the area. We, as a parent agency, have also changed, adapted our structures, and discovered new fields. With Micha Models, for example, we started the #talentmotherhood movement to help each other through this time. I think these changes remain to some extent. Finally, everything has been slowed down a bit and I really hope it will continue in this direction, so that we can also contribute a bit to climate protection by travelling less and locally."

What makes a professional modelling agency?

Enzio Maggiore: "It is important to listen to the wishes of the talents and models and to make the best possible decisions for them and their careers. This also means that you might have to turn down jobs from high-end brands with a high earning potential if they are not conducive to the further development of the respective model or talent. So every job has to be well thought out and managed. You can't be seduced by money and fame."

We feel that trust, openness and transparent, clear communication are key.

What is the ultimate tip for achieving satisfying results in the model business every day?

Enzio Maggiore: "In all the brands and movements of my agencies, we value encounters at eye level, be it with clients, partners, or our talents. Of course, there is no one right way. But I think that the goals and the feel-good factor between agency and model should match in order to achieve satisfactory results for both parties."

Enzio Maggiore, a native of Freiburg with Italian roots, has built up a network over the past 15 years of experience in the industry, which enables him and his team to place his models individually with agencies in Paris, Milan, and New York. Many of his own productions and commissioned events serve as attention-grabbing appearances both regionally, nationally, and internationally. Through self-organized, nationwide model castings, he repeatedly offers young up-and-coming talent the chance to be discovered as a model.
