Face Yoga: Expert Inka Lehner On The Natural Anti-Ageing Method
Goodbye, wrinkles! Face yoga helps to tighten facial features in a gentle and natural way. In a talk with certified face yoga trainer Inka Lehner, we find out how the method works and what other benefits it has.
Face yoga is a trend from the USA that became known under the name "Yotox". Targeted facial gymnastics prevent skin ageing. The skin is tightened, and wrinkles and dark circles are reduced. The exercises promote blood circulation and strengthen the muscles in the face that we need for facial expressions and changing facial features.
In everyday life, we sometimes tend to let our facial expressions remain in a certain position. This results in very different wrinkles, such as the frown line caused by scrunched-up eyebrows or frown lines caused by constantly frowning. But also an age-related reduction of collagen and hyaluronic acid can bring wrinkles to light.
Face yoga is often referred to as "syringe-free" Botox. Inka Lehner confirms to us that it is one of the most natural and effective ways to slow down skin ageing or eliminate its effects. "It is a series of exercises and massages where the muscles are repeatedly tensed and relaxed. By building up the muscles, the face regains volume and counteracts the "downward trend". The collagen and subcutaneous connective tissue is optimally supplied with blood through the training, which means that the skin cells receive enough oxygen and nutrients again," says the expert.
The workout for the face is not only fun but also has a relaxing effect on our entire body. Whether in the office, at home or in the car: the exercises can be done from anywhere.
Inka Lehner is a certified face yoga trainer and an expert in this field.
She talks to us about the natural anti-ageing effect and tells us about a simple exercise to do.
The most important question: Can it really prevent and reduce wrinkles?
Yes, it leads to the following positive changes in your face:
- The face regains a fresh and radiant appearance.
- The skin smoothes and tightens, and wrinkles are reduced or disappear.
- Eyebrows lift and the eye appears more open and more prominent again.
- The nasolabial line is smoothed.
- The cheek area is lifted, firmed and tightened.
- The lips appear fuller and lip wrinkles smoothed out.
- Drooping corners of the mouth point upwards again.
- A double chin is reduced or disappears.
- Neck and décolleté become smoother and firmer.
- Impurities disappear.
Thus, it is a natural facelift for the face and neck.
How often should the exercises be done to achieve visible results, or is there a minimum age?
Age is not a factor, whether you are doing the workout as a preventative measure or to regain your firm, youthful contours. Starting at 30 is not too early, as visible skin ageing begins at 25.
Face yoga is a revolutionary and effective workout that many already trust. The first results can be seen after 10 days, provided you train regularly 2-3 times weekly. After 1 month you will notice the first before/after effects, after 2 months the results will be visible to others.
Is there a simple exercise that you could explain to us in more detail?
Yes, for example, "The Lion". This one exercise strengthens the chin, cheeks and neck.
Execution: Open your mouth and smile broadly. Stick out your tongue and pull it down as far as possible. Hold the tension for 30 seconds, and take a short break. 3 repetitions. We exercise the whole face if we open our eyes wide without raising our eyebrows or frowning.
You offer individual and group training, but also online training via Zoom. What does a training session look like?
A training session lasts about 60 minutes. The hour starts with loosening up the cervical spine, shoulders, scalp and décolleté, then the facial muscles are warmed up. Next, we begin with a series of exercises coordinated by me. Finally, we relax with a 5-10 minute facial massage.
