Beauty hotspot in Paris: "The Scar Lab" in the west of Paris

Near the Porte Maillot, this innovative institute, the brainchild of two wellness-loving friends, has established itself as the new beauty mecca in the west of Paris.

A street with cosy Haussmann buildings, common in the 16th arrondissement and just a stone's throw from Avenue Foch. This is where Carla Kakoun and Anne Michelson have founded 'The Scar Lab', an innovative institute that goes against the usual clichés.

Neat décor and neon lights, hand-picked playlists, massage cushions in the soft sofas of the waiting room and the beaming founders right in the middle: Designed as the ideal flat for any beautynista, this elegant cocoon makes the interiors of many others a little old school.

After Kakoun and Michelson took their first steps in media and fashion, the two friends set their sights on the next task and developed an establishment that they themselves had been looking for for years.

Between two babies and in the midst of a health crisis, they created 'The Scar Lab', whose sounds are reminiscent of the first name of its co-founder Carla and can be interpreted as an incentive to accept yourself with all your flaws just as you are.

Complementary, the duo often work in pairs and offer four-handed treatments to their clientele. Anne is the body care specialist, while Carla is a master of the art of facials.

Intimate and warm, relaxed yet sophisticated, 'The Scar Lab' has quickly established itself as a beauty centre for many models. From Candice Swanepoel to Paige Reifler to Meadow Walker and Jordan Barrett, who can regularly be found here in the Sweat Lab, the infrared sauna, they all congregate.

What we love? A Glowskin facial, concentrated individual radiance enhanced by a Kobido massage; a "full body" signature body treatment combining radiofrequency, lipocavitation and drainage from which you emerge feather-light; or the Booty Peach Facial, a localised treatment for the buttocks that you can indulge in.
