An effortlessly chic and design-led hotel in the lesser explored south of Mykonos

The WILD Hotel on the Cycladic island of Mykonos offers a design-led experience overlooking a former fishing village. Designed as a natural amphitheatre, the 40-key boutique retreat allows to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and private access to a hidden beach.

Days at the property begin with the sun rising over the Aegean horizon and end with the evening light illuminating Agia Anna's twin hills, making it ideal for intimate groups of friends, families, couples and solo travellers. In the hours in between, guests are invited to flow through the grounds to the soothing waves of the beach. Designed in traditional Cycladic architecture, the property boasts a cliff-hugging infinity pool, a private bay ideal for lazy sunbathing and waters sheltered from the summer winds with views of the neighbouring island of Naxos.

The interiors, which include guest rooms, suites and villas, are tastefully designed. WILD combines traditional Greek architecture, natural textures and an earthy colour palette with terracotta pots, moulded clay and fine fabrics to create a smooth indoor-outdoor transition that reflects the company's back-to-nature philosophy.

Tucked away in a secluded corner, the Quiet Zone Spa is designed to rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. The facility has two treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy waterfall pool in an open cave and a newly renovated open-air gym with panoramic views of the Aegean.

Guests can explore the neighbouring islands on guided or personalised tours to interact with nature in the Cyclades as well. For the 2024 season, the hotel has developed a guided sailing adventure on a 'trata', a traditional fishing boat made of curved wooden trays and a narrow double-ended hull, endemic to the Aegean and representative of Cycladic island life. Guests set sail at dusk or in the morning and learn from local fishermen about traditional net fishing methods.

The Wild follows a slow food concept, using the abundance of fresh ingredients from the island's local farms and time-honoured family traditions. TAVERNA is open all day with a menu of delicacies from Mykonos and beyond, louza (sausages), graviera cheese and rusks for Cycladic salads straight from the garden. Next to TAVERNA is RAW, an evening hideaway serving a unique concept of Greek- Japanese fusion cuisine. Under the direction of Chef Kazuaki Sitamori, RAW uses local ingredients and exotic techniques to create delicious ceviche, sushi and seasonal salads served to guests at tables set up on terraces carved into the cliff.

Co-owned by the Interni Group, a family-owned collective of Greek design, retail and hospitality companies, the WILD Hotel itself is a tribute to the raw beauty and eclectic spirit of the island, once home to Mykonos' bravest fishermen, known as 'the wild ones' for their fearless spirit and unconventional lifestyle.
