The Highest Restaurant In London Duck & Waffle: A New Perspective On The Dining Experience
I think we all would agree that the city environment does not encourage contact with the natural world, providing myriad competing priorities and activities that push experiences in nature to the side. Moreover, in some cases, nature trips can be time-consuming. For example, some people must drive long distances until they can see the vast field valleys or the sea horizon. While there are a lot of benefits to spending time in nature, like improvement of our fitness level or overall health improvement, there are also some health advantages of just gazing at the horizon. Simply by looking at the skyline, our peripheral vision widens, and this action produces a calming effect. We can reduce stress from everyday life by allowing our eyes to relax and take on a broader panorama or view. Thus, you don't necessarily have to live by the seashore to reap the benefits and be able to stabilize your emotional state.
Settled on the prime location on the 40th floor of 110 Bishopsgate, Duck & Waffle is the highest 24-hour restaurant in the UK, offering incomparable views of London while serving its delights around the clock. The restaurant is encapsulated by ceiling-to-floor windows providing breathtaking 360° views of the City of London and the region beyond. Inspired by broad European and British influences and spirit, the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere encourages a convivial experience for guests through its array of dishes designed for sampling and sharing by award-winning chef Daniel Doherty. Duck & Waffle offers a playful take on traditional British cuisine, emphasizing local, rustic, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. 110 Bishopsgate is one of London's tallest buildings, stretching 230m into the skyline and completed in March 2011. Guests are transported to Duck & Waffle from a private entrance on Bishopsgate via two express, double-glazed scenic lifts, which take just 40 seconds to reach the top. Duck & Waffle is designed by award-winning architect CetraRuddy and includes a 24-seat "inside out" bar, a bustling open kitchen and a private dining room that seats up to 18 people.
The restaurant's guests will experience the combination of the classic and well-known dishes from a modern, playful perspective. This concept is reflected in the restaurant's décor: stainless steel and frosted glass are juxtaposed with old-world materials, including white marble, rustic metals, weathered wood and ceramic tiles.
Duck & Waffle is a tribute to a good life, offering a top-quality dining experience with the sparkling lights of London spread out like a carpet beneath you.
