Kurhaus Marienkron: For those in search of stress reduction
Vacations are always associated with long car journeys or even a flight. For all Viennese, however, this is different with Mönchhof, where the Kurhaus Marienkron is located. Only an hour away by car or train, you can reach the place dedicated to health and, despite its proximity to Vienna, find yourself in another world, located in Burgenland, with Lake Neusiedl on the horizon.
Marienkron knows that health and especially the immune system is based in the intestine and pays special attention to it, relieves it (if desired) with a light diet, and provides a stress-reduced environment and wellness oasis in the house for variety in everyday life.
But let's start from the beginning ...
The Marienkron-Family
However, it cannot be completely guaranteed that you will be able to work off your pile of books from Christmas & Co: The (self-selectable) program is intended to encourage more exercise, which starts slowly. From QiGong to water gymnastics, which can also be continued alone, to yoga or mindfulness exercises with various breathing techniques or fascia massage courses - the calorie burner sports program can be found elsewhere. However, in terms of stress reduction, that wouldn't exactly be goal-oriented either, if you want to relax for once.
Simplicity and minimalism are the be-all and end-all here in many respects. Leaving things out, relying on old, familiar forms of therapy such as fasting or Kneipp, and not trying out the latest craze in the wellness world, has in itself a relaxing factor that does not plunge the guest into a new adventure with offers and treatment options - which already determine our everyday lives anyway.
When you reach the large, bright lobby, you feel the deceleration that is immediately noticeable. If the first hotel residents in bathrobes seem a bit strange at first glance, they become a pleasant normality over the next few days. No matter whether one is on the way to the next slim-line stamp massage or on the way to the pool with attached steam bath and sauna landscape.
If you book a park room (which we absolutely recommend), you not only have a fantastic view of the spacious monastery park, which runs down the stress traffic light with its greenery, but also have a wonderful reading sofa at your disposal. Speaking of reading: That the screen time, which dominates our everyday life, is to be shut down here becomes clear, one finds books everywhere. Whether in the rooms or in a library on the mezzanine floor.
Especially for solo travelers who want to take some time out, Marienkron is an ideal place to feel at home. Why? Quite simply: the team. From the room service, which takes care of the ideal sleep by mattress topper, to the Cistercian nuns of the attached monastery wing, who also take care of the guests, the overused word "familiar" comes to mind. But this is precisely what gives Marienkron its flair.
Marienkron offers a wide variety of wellness packages, ranging from rigorous fasting to renewed radiance and skin health. Which one you choose is up to you, though you can still book a wide variety of treatments on site. And there are some that have proven to be worth recommending.
Between yoga exercises and fascia massages
You won't find the latest trend treatments in Marienkron, but they consciously rely on the tried and true traditions, such as the Kneipp therapies, which are also taken into account in the house with its own pool.
Marienkron is (also) a winter retreat that can be seen. For those who are looking for an alternative to ski slopes and thermal baths, Marienkron offers a completely different way to spend their free time or vacation. Those who need a change can indulge in a shopping trip in the nearby Designer Outlet Parndorf or Neusiedl am See or in Eisenstadt, which is not too far away.
Marienkron support does not end after the vacation
Those who no longer want to turn into the old dead ends and tread new paths can continue to get support from Marienkron back in Vienna. And this in the form of their own practice, which they opened in Vienna.
Accompanying guests is part of Marienkron's DNA, as Managing Director Gunther Farnleitner explains: "Vienna came into being for us in order to provide our guests with sustainable care and support. The long-term idea is to roll this offer out across our sister operations in Graz and Linz as well. But as I said - long-term."
Thus guests from Vienna and the environment can be cared for either in Marienkron or at the location "the Marienkron in Vienna". Dieticians, therapists and, if necessary, doctors will be employed - also in Vienna.
