Franziska Nazarenus takes us on a "Nuit de Paris" and shows us her spots
A new flirt! Where do you go to get to know each other better?
Franziska Nazarenus: "This scenario doesn't exist for me because I've been in a relationship for more than 8 years. That's why I now imagine an unforgettable date night with my boyfriend. The first location that comes to my mind is the sophisticated Lapérouse. Because the cosy and glamorous interior, the dim lighting and the myth of the place offer enough 'space' for intimate conversations and a confidential atmosphere. The restaurant exudes the magic of a unique candlelight dinner, where I really get dressed up."
The girl's trio is on the road. What nightlife stops do you make on a balmy summer night?
Franziska Nazarenus: "Paris is a paradise for nightlife lovers. On a balmy summer night, we start the evening with a terrific truffle pizza and a delicious glass of wine at the trendy Italian restaurant Loulou. The elegant outdoor terrace with a view of La Tour Eiffel amidst the gardens of the Louvre invites you to linger."
Franziska Nazarenus: "Afterwards, we head off to the entertainment district of Pigalle. At the foot of Montmartre, we visit the trendy and noisy Hôtel Amour. The hip bar with its beautiful courtyard is a hotspot of the night for fashionable Parisians.
The best places in Paris to enjoy a glass of wine outdoors and gaze at the glittering Eiffel Tower?
Franziska Nazarenus: "My current top 5 locations in Paris are the rooftop bars Le Perchoir Marais, 43 Up on the Roof, the restaurants Girafe Paris and Bambini and (for self-catering) the peaceful side street Avenue de Camoëns with breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower."
And in winter?
Franziska Nazarenus: "Paris is not only the city of love and fashion but also of cabaret. That's why the somewhat different chic evening with the girls begins at the notorious Crazy Horse variety theatre. With a glass of champagne, we toast the fascinating show of the fantastically trained dancers. Afterward, we drive to Marais. Here we stop at the restaurant of the Hotel Sinner Paris. It's really no ordinary place - at late hours the guests drop everything and dance wildly to the music of the DJane/DJ."
Where do you prefer to enjoy your favourite cocktail? And which one would you like?
Franziska Nazarenus: "To be honest, I am not a cocktail lover. When I go out in the evening, I prefer a glass of champagne and/or wine - my all-time favourite is the Rosé Champagne by Laurent-Perrier. My favourite place to enjoy a glass of fine sparkling wine is probably the oldest champagne bar in Paris - Le Dokhan's Bar in the hotel of the same name. It is the epitome of Parisian charm with its exquisite wines, golden elements, antique mirrors, and unique Louis Vuitton-look lift."
Which bartender is really hot in Paris right now?
Franziska Nazarenus: "When it comes to bartenders, I rely on the stories and mentions of people in the fashion scene, because I can't judge for myself. One name that keeps coming up is Colin Field. He is the head bartender at the famous Bar Hemingway, named after the legendary writer Ernest Hemingway and part of the Ritz Hotel. In fact, he has already been named the best bartender in the world by magazines like Forbes."
And which bar should you definitely have seen in the "City of Love"?
Franziska Nazarenus: "A distinctive nightlife spot is the Buddha Bar Paris. It is one of the most popular bars of the fashion crowd. Visiting it feels like travelling to a faraway land - a huge Buddha is enthroned in the middle of the room, the atmosphere is warm, cool & exotic and the rest of the impressive interior design does the rest."
Let's say we want to have a few drinks in an atmosphere á la Orient Express. Where is the best place to go?
Franziska Nazarenus: "There can only be one answer: Le Train Bleu. Because there are simply too many parallels to the glamorous train in a class of its own. The opulent brasserie is located in the Gare de Lyon, was named after the former luxury train Train Bleu and a visit is like a journey back in time to the Roaring 20s. As the Orient Express, the restaurant, with its stunning gilded stuccoes, is synonymous with boundless glamour and attracts celebrities. Coco Chanel and Brigitte Bardot, for example, came and went here."
