Contemporary Japanese Gastronomy at the Matagi Brunch
Nestled within the stunning surrounds of Raffles The Palm Resort is an exclusive hidden gem, Matagi. Serving a decadent and exquisite array of contemporary Japanese fare, Matagi is the passion project of Head Chef Mauro Di Leo. Every Saturday, from 1 pm – 4 pm, the crescendo of this sumptuous and brilliantly unique concept can be experienced, with a sharing menu of Matagi’s delightful, Japanese fare, beautifully curated cocktails, and an enigmatic ambiance.
Chef Mauro carefully and seamlessly combines the traditional flavors, techniques, and ingredients of Japanese cuisine with an Italian twist to create an exciting culinary brunch. To begin, diners can share appetizers of crunchy Rock Shrimp Tempura, zingy Crispy Fried Squid coated in an aromatic panko jalapeno crumb, and delicate Black Cod and Prawn Gyoza.
To follow, diners are treated to a medley of intricate Maki Rolls such as Crispy Chicken, adorned with Quails Eggs and drizzled with Teriyaki Sauce; sweet Californian King Crab and creamy avocado, and T&T Tuna Tartare mixed with rich black truffle and flavourful fried leeks.
Den Miso Black Cod accompanied by tangy, pickled Italian Giardiniera; tender A5 Wagyu Striploin sprinkled with Maldon salt and served with a zesty Lime Ponzu and a Seabass Clay Pot Rice with a smooth herbed butter and crowned with crispy nori culminates Matagi’s brunch.
Alongside indulging in the gastronomic genius prepared by Chef Mauro and his team, guests can also revel in the upbeat, atmospheric live entertainment provided by Raffles’ Music Curator, Timo Higgs.
With an excellent Kids Club by Raffles, parents of 3-8-year-olds, can unwind and enjoy their afternoon, relaxed in the knowledge that their children are being cared for and entertained by a team of professionals for the duration of the brunch. Bookings for the Kids Club need only be made 3 days in advance. Dubai-based attendees, with a party size of two or more that opt for Matagi’s champagne package, can benefit from a chauffeur service, ensuring a luxurious experience from start to finish. To take advantage of this amazing service diners must book 3 days prior to their brunch booking and pick up and drop off locations must be in the Dubai area.
