A Tribute to Judy Blame by Dior

The inspiration for Dior's Fall Winter 2020 collection and campaign comes directly from the artist and accessory designer, king of customization and stylist with an English punkish soul, Judy Blame. "I loved this show imagined as if it were a tribute to Judy Blame's singularity.

"I wanted to recreate her atmosphere in this campaign by highlighting the couture essence of the collection" explained Mr. Kim Jones , his proposal took into consideration the work of Blame personality who was part of the English club culture of the 80s. Among the personalities with whom he collaborated Judy Blame; Leigh Bowery, Boy George, Neneh Cherry, Björk, Kylie Minogue and bands like Duran Duran and The Transmitters.

Like a parallelism between brand founder Christian Dior and Judy Blame, the collection celebrates two iconoclastic personalities that are extremely different in their ideology. The models in the hut shot by Steven Maisel wear the garments that blend timeless style and subversive attitude. After all, his work was centered on the appropriation of second-hand and everyday objects to give them a new life in the form of daring accessories with an underground taste and at the same time couture.

The protagonists of the collection are also the Opera gloves that cover as an accessory on every look and the iconic Saddlebag , a great return from the 90s renewed with a shoulder strap that redefines the traditional curve. Without neglecting the look on customization, charms jewelry, British punk hats and Jodhpur boots perfectly illustrate the constant reinvention of the Maison Dior and the vision of Jones.
