These are the Vienna insider tips from musician JOSH.
In the last L'Officiel Austria issue, various bloggers shared their favourite places in Vienna - Now the format is also available in a digital version. Austrian musician JOSH. gives L'Officiel Austria an insight into his go-to pubs and restaurants in Vienna.
1. Restaurant and wine business "Nikolaihof Wachau"
JOSH.: "If you want lovingly prepared food and unbelievably good white wines to go with it, you have to go to the Nokolaihof in the Wachau. Apricot dumplings, bacon plums and a Grüner Veltliner to go with it, that's pretty much heaven on earth for me. The Nikolaihof is considered the oldest winery in Austria."
2. Naschmarkt in Vienna
JOSH.: "Yes, of course, it's the classic, it's in every travel guide, but the gastronomy there is simply wonderful. Especially when it's actually still too cold to sit outside. At "Doan" you always meet people who - wrapped in blankets - enjoy the night in Vienna with you over spritzers (white wine spritzers) and oriental food. Just order a mixed starter plate. You get oriental delicacies there. I love it there."
3. 25h Hotelbar "Dachboden" Vienna
JOSH.: "Yes, hotel bar sounds like a boring story, but the attic of the 25h is really cool and there are always unplugged concerts. I played songs there a few years ago when nobody knew me. The view is also really nice."
4. Café Bacco in Vienna
JOSH.: "For me the best Italian in town. There is no menu and you should really bring a lot of hunger! At Bacco you get what the kitchen has freshly prepared on the day. A special kind of experience."
5. Dino's Apothekery Bar
JOSH.: "Who hasn't always wanted to have cocktails made by people in pharmacist's smocks? Sensational cocktails and always something going on. A bit exclusive, but an experience. You often have to settle for standing room because the bar is very popular, but that doesn't detract from it."
