Baselworld's decision from Breitling
Baselworld is a great event where visitors from all over the world discover new models and innovative solutions of watch brands. Approximately 2,100 participants from 45 countries are participating in the event in Basel, Switzerland. The event, which we had the chance to take a look at not only hours but also jewelery collections, took place on March 21-26 and more than 94,000 people visited.
Swiss watch giant Breitling recently announced that it will not participate in Baselworld 2020, which will take place on April 30th - May 5th, from 2020 onwards. The interesting thing is that he will organize an event called Breitling Summit and he will focus on sales and communication at this big event.
No one was surprised by this decision of the brand. Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling, has repeated that since the brand's inception in 2017, the Summit and Roadshows have to be weighted, they cannot achieve the performance they want with an annual event. In fact, he organized the Breitling Summit for the first time in London last fall. Earlier this year, Nine-City Roadshow was launched to promote the new Navitimer 8 collection, with cities in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States.
