Petar Petrov: RESORT 2020 Collection

After the Viennese designer had built up a good reputation and a loyal clientele that was enthusiastic about his talent for soft tailoring and long silk dresses, Petrov's first Fashion Week in February brought the opportunity to present his work in a new light.

Powerful and instinctive at the same time. This is how you could describe this collection. At first glance, her preference for pleated trousers and boxy blazers also makes her look very masculine. Nevertheless, beautifully draped, asymmetrical silk dresses, waist-defining silhouettes and a refined simplicity that stands for pure femininity can also be found in the collection.

The Bulgarian-born designer once again shows how skilfully and stylishly male and female designs can clash.

"My work is a radically subjective reflection of reality from the perspective of an outsider. My collections are meant to provoke and question."

Generous silk dresses and blouses, his characteristic suits kept in an earthy colour palette, enhanced by a touch of burnt orange, reinforce the relaxed forms of his creations.
Highlights include a loose brown trouser suit and several generous, asymmetrical silk dresses with subtle prints. There are also statement pieces in the form of skirts and tops in textured Devoré silk, which are eye-catching yet relaxed and effortless to wear.
PETAR PETROV is available at NET-A-PORTER, Farfetch and Mytheresa, among others.
