niLuu (@niluusilksense) is a PETA approved vegan silk and cruelty-free loungewear brand that combines the iconic elegance of traditional silk with a socially and environmentally ethical production process. The result is an unparalleled design that breathes like cotton, drapes beautifully like silk, and reflects the cultural tradition of luxury textiles from founder Nilufer Bracco’s native country, Turkey.

The first collection by Miami based brand niLuu features premium quality vegan silk kimono robes, sleep masks, face masks, and pillowcases that are available in a variety of deep and vibrant colors, and with a soft-brushed finish typical of premium sand-washed silk. The vegan silk pieces are designed to not only feel and look amazing but are sustainable, biodegradable and 100% vegan.

Bracco, who was previously an interior designer, founded niLuu with a vision of creating the softest, most luxurious sleepwear that supports the well-being of the planet and creates economic opportunities for the women of Turkey. Speaking of her vision, Bracco says, “I created niLuu with the idea that we can have the things we love and support a sustainable future for our planet at the same time. I am thrilled to be able to offer a sustainable collection of luxury products that endeavor to support female empowerment, a few causes that I care deeply about.”

Made from Cupro, a yarn fiber derived from the by-product of the cotton harvest, niLuu’s innovative vegan silk fabric is hypoallergenic, anti-static, easy to care for, and is also known to have several benefits for the skin. The breathable fabric helps to maintain body temperature; excellent moisture control means the fabric doesn’t dry out the skin or hair in the ways that cotton would and minimal friction against the skin means it is also known to have anti-aging benefits. Speaking of niLuu’s high-quality fabric, Bracco adds, “Our innovative vegan silk delivers the best of both worlds. Not only does our luxury fabric feel amazing when you use it, but you can also feel good knowing that it caused minimum harm to the planet when it was produced and that it will leave only the slightest trace when it reaches the end of its lifecycle.”

The luxury textile brand, which plans to expand further into sleep and loungewear, timeless fashion items, and luxury linens in April 2021. With a commitment to eco-friendly practices, they partner with 1% For The Planet pledging to donate 1% of their annual revenue to environmental organizations that work hard to protect our planet. “Like most people, sustainability was never on my radar growing up. When I had my child in 2006, for the first time in my life, I became aware of our energy system, water management, and the recycling process, as well as becoming conscious about the future of our planet and of the fashion industry's impact on it. This journey led me to understand that to be able to compete successfully, a sustainable product must be as beautiful, functional, and exciting as the traditional one. Sustainability is a journey, and I am learning and improving my impact on our planet every day.” says Bracco.

This philosophy, along with the designer’s love of fashion, is the driving force behind niLuu.
