FENDI: Campaign for first Ready-To-Wear collection by Kim Jones
A tribute to FENDI: this is the inspiration behind Kim Jones' first ready-to-wear collection. Creatively directed by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and photographed by Craig McDean, against the backdrop of FENDI's headquarters at the Palazzo Della Civiltà Italiana, the images combine classicism and modernity to show the starting point of Jones' vision.
Included: the new Fendi First Bag, which already joins the ranks of iconic Fendi bags alongside classics like the Peekaboo or Baguette.
After Karl Lagerfeld, who designed for FENDI for years, passed away, it was Silvia Venturini Fendi who carried on. With Kim Jones, who most recently caused a sensation at Dior Homme, a new designer is now returning to head the brand. And - as we've come to expect from the Brit - with great success. Conveniently, this also arrives with a 'big splash' in the Big Apple, as FENDI opened a gigantic flagship store in Manhattan, spanning two floors at the corner of 57th Street and Madison Avenue. Inspiration: the presentation of the collections á la Art Gallery. As befits New York.
