2021 has been a productive year for The Coat by Katya Silchenko team. The winning of the nomination "Best Womenswear Designer" (BFA, 2021) has strengthened Katya's confidence that they had indeed chosen the right direction of development. The brand is actively expanding, and the showroom has long served as a place of female strength, beauty, and aesthetics. It is there, where you can hear clients discuss The North Face x KAWS collaborations, how to style the look with the new Dior hobo bag, and sip one of the tastiest matchas in town. Katya Silchenko is indeed pleased to see the space in the shopping lists of the most stylish women. And she does not want to stop there.

On the eve of the brand's 7th birthday, The Coat's designer felt the need to change the atmosphere of the place that frames the collections. She realized that her brand is a significant fashion player. The complexity of tailoring and the quality of fabrics have increased. Katya Silchenko often welcomes in her showroom various representatives of the fashion industry and clients from different parts of the world.

‘’I wanted the showroom to harmoniously complement the visual range." - Katya Silchenko, founder and creative director of the brand The Coat by Katya Silchenko

Floor-to-ceiling windows, a "wall washer" light system, and large mirrors were an important part of the new design; they added an air that she had long dreamed of. Katya meticulously fought for the lighting in fitting rooms, so that her clients never have to face that feeling when it is scary to look in the mirror. The fitting is as comfortable as possible, and light complements the female silhouette. The monochrome finish of the floor, walls, and ceiling made it possible to place accents correctly. Katya Silchenko spent a lot of time finding Rosa Aurora marble for finishing touches to convey the shades of tenderness and femininity that are in the DNA of the brand.

As soon as the borders were opened, Katya got on a plane, because traveling is the main source of her inspiration and was the opportunity to pick up bright elements for a new space. It is how they got the iconic Reversivel armchair designed by Martin Euler from the 1950s by the Tacchini factory or the daybed by the Spanish design studio PerezOchando.

Most of the time Katya Silchenko spends in the LAB. However, while communicating with clients, she understands that the efforts and work that they put into the creation of collections are not in vain. The Coat has become an object of interest and desire for women around the world, according to the expanding geography of online sales. It is especially pleasant for Katya when clients who live outside of Ukraine come to the showroom with the words "I dreamed of visiting this place".

It is not easy to create collections in their latitudes. In March, it could be -10 degrees with knee-deep snow, and in May +30. Therefore, Silchenko learned to create her collections in a complex manner and make the model range balanced. She takes into account and anticipates the clients' wishes so that everyone can find something of their taste.

Spring/Summer 2022 collection will be filled with shades that laid the base of The Coat. A riot of colors from different parts of the Earth reminded Katya of how everything was born. The new collection features unique designer prints sourced from Paris, sustainable fabrics, new finishes, and handcrafted pieces that had become the brand's DNA.
