Karl Lagerfeld x Kenneth Ize: Dynamic super sophistication
"Everything I do in fashion makes me think of Africa", says Kenneth Ize. He is Nigerian by birth but studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna before opening his studio in Lagos, Nigeria. For the collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld, "distinctive and detailed" fashion was planned and that's exactly what it turned out to be! Tailor-made individual pieces that pick up on African culture and embody it through exclusive cuts à la Karl Lagerfeld immediately catch the eye.
All the looks in the collection are unisex. There are eye-catching colours, stripes, checks and a variety of prints reminiscent of a colourful safari trip. Long trousers with a raised waist and airy shirts are particularly striking throughout the collection. Coordinated sets, as well as knitted tops and trousers, can also be ideally combined with each other and demonstrate the fusion of different cultures and styles.

The accessories were also inspired by African designs, especially Nigerian ones. The requirements of the Leather Working Group (KWG) were strictly adhered to. The patterns immediately catch the eye and spice up any outfit.

Carine Roitfeld also played an important role in the development of the collection. In joint teamwork with Design Director Hun Kim and Kenneth Ize, the unique and lively collection was created, which you can buy in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques as well as online.
