It happened: A Couture Flagshipstore for Balenciaga
It was at this famous address that Balenciaga opened its salon and workshops from the late 1930s to 1968, creating and offering models that can now be found in the world's finest museums.
A perfume and accessories shop also opened there in 1947. And in 2021, the 50th couture collection was shown. For five decades, the brand had not presented any couture.
The current creative director Demna then announced on the occasion of the last fashion show last July, where Dua Lipa, Nicole Kidman or Kim Kardashian took to the catwalk as models, that a couture boutique would open its doors at this location.
That has now happened. This new customisation temple offers an exclusive selection under the label 10 Avenue George-V, which can be modified by hand at any time in the workshops in the basement. There are aluminium shirts, Selvedge denim, outerwear made from recycled fabrics, embroidered dresses, quilted jersey T-shirts, the famous Balenciaga Couture face guard designed by Mercedes-AMG F1 Applied Science or the Balenciaga speaker bag. A Limited Edition by Bang & Olufsen. The shop, divided into two parts (woman and man), is clad in tinted and mirrored glass on invisible metal frames, creating the illusion of floating spaces.
