Heart Affairs: Chloë Sevigny
Compliments are quite common for actress Chloë Sevigny, who is known to a broad public mainly through her engagements in “Boys Don’t Cry”, “American Psycho” and “American Horror Story”. At this point, however, it is not just anyone, but no one less than Chopard co-president and creative director Caroline Scheufele, who is strewing roses at the French screen icon and her unique style: “When I heard how interested Chloë was in sustainability, I knew immediately that she was the perfect choice to collaborate on the design of a very special handbag for Chopard”.
A heart for the environment
The result of the creative exchange, a playful homage to the 1940s, is also the foundation stone for the company’s new “Green Carpet Collection”, in which the origin of all materials can be traced without interruption and also the production has been designed to save resources. “I love working with brands that are not afraid to do things differently”, reveals Sevigny, who has already been a testimonial for brands like Miu Miu and Chloé. “The jewelry industry is known for its environmental and social challenges, but Chopard is committed to making things better here and is proving that this is possible! The bag’s clear message of love - whether for people or the planet - is intended to be a further step towards sustainable luxury and was appropriately presented at the Cannes Film Festival. In keeping with the spirit of the project, Chopard has not brought another it-piece onto the market but has instead opted for a timelessly modern design that will be appreciated for many decades to come.
