Dior reveals the Secrets around the Plisee Art of the House
On the occasion of her Dior Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2022-2023 show, presented at the Rodin Museum in early July, Maria Grazia Chiuri took as a starting point the tree of life, present in all cultures. An idea that led to an essential inspiration: Folklore. Thus, the must-have dresses of this collection featured braided patchworks of bronze and black lace and guipure, while muslin silk was chosen for the long, light dresses, following the lines of the body in a virtuoso play.
Pleats were seen in particular on one of the signature silhouettes of this show. In particular, a pleated dress in crepe raw silk, with neckline and peplum enhanced with smocking and soutache accents, now reveals its design secrets. This dress (number 32 in the show, by the way), which mimics the effect of marble statues, was pleated entirely by hand. For this necessary: Unique know-how, and testimony to the heritage of the House of Dior, which you can discover in the video below.
