Balenciaga Opens First Flagship Store in Austria
The latest Balenciaga collections and trendy pieces will soon be available to shop on 230 square meters in Vienna. Both women's and men's collections can be found here. The brand's much sought-after bags and accessories will also be there. This makes Seitzergasse 1-3 in the "Golden Quarter" of Vienna's city center a hot spot for the latest trends.
This is the first time that the brand founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga in Paris in 1937 has come to the Austrian capital. Balenciaga, who was described by Christian Dior as the "master of us all", was one of the few in his field who draped, drew cuts, and designed his works of art with his own hands. With his new silhouette (broad shoulders, narrow waist) he set the tone of his time. In 1960, even Fabiola de Mora y Aragón married her husband, the King of Belgium, in a Balenciaga gown. His sculptural gowns significantly influenced contemporaries such as Oscar de la Renta, André Courrèges, Emanuel Ungaro, Mila Schön, and Hubert de Givenchy.
