Balenciaga: With this, the brand sets new trends - and yes Kim Kardashian is there
Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2022
Hollywood's elite gathered at this year's Vanity Fair Oscar party. Some of them wore black gowns or sequined dresses. Kim Kardashian, however, opted for a completely different look. The 41-year-old reality star appeared in a neon blue spandex dress, or LOOK 69, from the Balenciaga 360° Winter 22 collection. Particularly striking are the sleeves that have been converted into gloves, a detail that has become a trademark of the brand as well as Kim K. She wore Naked Knife 110mm boots in black spandex material with it and oval Swift sunglasses in silver bio-injected nylon with silver lenses.
Kendall Jenner was less colourful but no less dramatic at the Oscar party. She wore LOOK 2 from the Balenciaga Summer 22 red carpet collection. The model caught everyone's attention in the dramatic evening dress with ruffles in black nylon and Odeon leather boots. She accessorised her look with silver earrings and Swift oval sunglasses with black lenses.
The latest and most exciting Balenciaga launch: Balenciaga Objects - Runner Sculpture!
To mark the beginning of the month, Balenciaga is launching an extremely limited edition of the Runner sculpture. Only 20 pieces are available in shops in Beijing, Beverly Hills, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Monaco, Paris, Shanghai and Tokyo, as well as on balenciaga.com and balenciaga.cn.
The object recreates the Runner sneaker - a "patchwork of sporty and DIY references launched in 2021" - as a life-size, entirely handmade piece in glazed ceramic. Interestingly, accents of wear were deliberately included. Thus, the shoe shows signs of wear and codes of movement, such as layered sports textures, worn fabric edges, exposed seams and intentionally blistered technical adhesive.
The fashion house further reported that the object and other artworks would be produced outside the calendar of fashion collections. So Balenciaga fans can look forward to more timeless, exclusive artworks to everyday objects, from the glass series.
