A unique collaboration: Dior meets Thebe Magugu x CTAOP Capsule Collection
To support the CTAOP foundation, created by Dior ambassador and Hollywood star Charlize Theron, Dior and Maria Grazia Chiuri have collaborated with LVMH Prize winner Thebe Magugu.
A cotton T-shirt made entirely in South Africa features the motif of two women holding hands. A strong symbol of sisterhood. It is the symbolic power of a collection that aims to connect Dior with South Africa and works for a good cause.
For example, the Dior Book Tote, which has already become cult, has been given a "Manifesto-as-a-seal" that embeds itself in the Dior Oblique in an irresistible blue. A feather-light tulle skirt completes the outfit, making the street style look more playful.
It is this interesting tension that the Maison of the "New Look" realised with Magugu in a collection. Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who in her previous work was considered to be extremely experimental in terms of collaborations, has this time dedicated herself to the connection between Paris and Johannesburg.
The collection will be donated to the organisation CTAOP (Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project). This is a foundation founded in 2007 whose aim is to promote the health, education and safety of young people in southern Africa. As part of this, Maria Grazia Chiuri has developed a joint project to promote a new generation of designers who live, create and produce there.
