5 Style Rules We Can Learn From Korean Fashionistas
We're a little in love... and have been for a while - with the unmistakable style of fashion-conscious Korean women!
Whether it's the famously elegant chic of French women or the cool minimalism of Scandinavian women - there are many styles we celebrate. Now, however, we think it's time to celebrate a style that deserves to get its due credit: that of many South Korean women. With their understated, elegant but at the same time very trendy outfits, they show a great sense of fashion. What makes the looks so special and what we can learn from them - here comes the style analysis!
1. Less is more
Many Koreans like to follow the motto "less is more" and they are spot on. Fashionable minimalism never goes completely out of fashion and is therefore the best strategy for always being appropriately dressed in the most diverse situations and environments. Of course, it is exciting to go for "more is more" once in a while, but especially for those of us who want (and need) to look professional and classy at work, a restrained style is ideal.
2. Restrained colours are top
Neutral colours like white, dark blue or cream (to name a few) that we often see them wearing are also great. Restrained colours radiate lightness and elegance. A pink or red lipstick with it adds a wonderfully fresh accent and rounds off the overall look.
3. Classic cuts are a win
Nothing is as timeless as classic cuts. They are the non-plus-ultra when it comes to fashion, because they make everyone look well-dressed in no time at all. Korean women obviously know this and love to wear trouser suits, blazers or skirts.
4. Light, flowy fabrics
Flowing fabrics a) look classy and b) are also very comfortable to wear. Whether an elegant blouse or a light dress: delicate textiles create a beautiful and feminine balance to the classics mentioned earlier.
5. Making it look easy
However, the greatest art they have mastered is making a look appear effortless. It's the combination of understated colours, classic cuts, lightweight fabrics and the occasional breeze of casual or cool that do the trick. This is how to create great, modern looks that look like they were accomplished without any effort!
