Iris Apfel has established itself in the fashion industry as a fashion icon and now celebrates its 100th birthday this Sunday, 08/29! Her passion for colors and textures was born while working as a previous designer alongside her husband, Carl Apfel (1914-2015). The couple used to travel the world looking for interesting objects that could be used in their work. They even carried out several White House reform projects for nine different presidents (Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Clinton).

On these trips, to places like China and India, Iris began her collection of accessories that are the soul of her original style. She studied art history at New York University and attended art school at the University of Wisconsin. Her looks caught the attention of the world and the businesswoman even won an exhibition in 2005 at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in New York. In 2015, his life became a documentary, "Iris", which can be watched on Amazon Prime - it's worth putting on your must-watch list!

In 2018, Mattel created a Barbie doll in the image of Iris! In 2019, she became the oldest personality to sign a contract with IMG Models , one of the largest modeling agencies in the world and which takes care of the careers of big names like Ashley Graham, Bella Hadid and Gisele Bündchen (but the Brazilian ended the its contract in 2021).
