Rodarte presents escapist femininity for Spring/Summer 2022
Rodarte takes a closer look at 1930s femininity and created a more defined look with elongated silhouettes in flowing fabrics. Subtlety comes here with lace and prints that show flowers. It is the image of a new woman, classic and timeless, and one that also uses the masculine universe to position itself. The counterpoint: a sense of escapism enhanced by iridescent fabrics, fringes, horn beads, transparency, and sensuality. There is also a sweetness, evoked by dresses in shades such as off-white and pastel, like an elegant tea party that seems to come from another time.
Designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy are the best role models for their customers in this respect. With their collections, they have built up a loyal clientele over the past few years who are always looking forward to the next collections.
Between ornaments on blazers and leggings, the original prints came into their own. The tops, suitable for every bust size, were reminiscent of Greek goddesses and couldn't have packaged body positivity better. Femininity by and for women. A homage to the elemental force of creativity.
