Dior Presents The Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2021-2022 Collection
This Dior haute couture autumn-winter 2021-2022 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri focuses strongly on the return to "being present" thus shifting the attention back to tactile materiality. This implies the reinterpretation of embroidery: no longer a simple decorative ornament, but also an element connected to the senses of sight and touch. In this season, it can be found everywhere - from the lifesize embroideries on the walls of the Musée Rodin, designed specifically for the show, to the delicate lace and feathered details that covered the goddess-like gowns.
Created by the talented French artist Eva Jospin, the beautiful artwork Chambre de Soie provided a magnificent backdrop for the show. It was in a sense a recalling of the Indian-inspired Salle aux Broderies in the Colonna Palace in Rome. This creative décor was very skillfully balanced and complemented the spectacular pleats, and hand-woven chains that composed patterns on the body. Overall the collection was done in a neutral-colored palette but was spiced up with powder blue and green.
The energy from this unique collection is poetic pleasure, located right at the intersection of style, movement, and attitude. The series of pieces, featuring an assortment of checks, tweeds, textures, and different dimensions in black and white, showcase innovative warp and weft constructions.
With the help and under the guidance of couture, the unknown together with our unsuspected desires is revealed.
