Ciao KIM: Kim Kardashian's "Dolce Vita" at Dolce & Gabbana's

Kim Kardashian lands in Milan for MFW as the curator of the Women’s Spring-Summer 2023 Fashion Show.

Kim Kardashian joins fashion house Dolce & Gabbana to star in the video that served as the backdrop for Dolce & Gabbana's Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show: Shown in a classic black & white aesthetic, we see almost a Warhol approach to arguably the most photographed woman of the just-begun 21st century.

She eats, she glitters and she is very blonde. A diva of times past, a Brigitte Bardot of the present. And also, finally, a spot that closes the cycle of teasers posted on Instagram before the show: Kardashian gets off the jet, laps up ice cream, and eats pizza in a limousine, while surrounded by the constant flurry of flashbulbs from photographers. Is this how America imagines Italo chic? In any case, it's an interpretation of it.

"Ciao KIM!" Dolce & Gabbana's Spring Summer 2023 collection is a tribute to Kim. We indeed find Kim's style from the first look to the last one on the runway. The chokers, bustiers and the fabrics used are the pure expression of her look and style.

The Collaboration:

Dolce and Gabbana got the idea for a collaboration during Kourtney Kardashian's wedding in Portofino hosted by the designers. The iconic corsets embellished with rhinestone splints, a Kardashian signature, many elongated sheath dresses with square necklines, animalier in profusion and black lace on each look, stitched on the side, a label that bore the date of the original garment. All pieces that by no means lost their contemporary feel.

A tribute to the brand’s iconic 90s and 2000s aesthetics.

Kim Kardashian's love for Dolce & Gabbana goes way back, and the endearment has manifested itself in the curation of their latest collection, which draws on archival looks from 1987 to 2007.

Mixting retro lines with contemporary details, sicilian heritage and Holliwood glamour.

Gray jumpsuit braided around a halter neck and around the waist, accompanied by gray gloves down to the forearm is pure expression of the "double K" style. A pair of sunglasses accompanies the look making it cooler than no it already was.

Body shaping fabrics

Kim's passion for body-shaping is certainly no secret. This look consisting of Sheer Grey silk leggings and corset are a 1996 - 1997 re-edition seen in a contemporary light. Unmissable is the halter-neck pearl necklace that echoes Kim's indistinguishable print.

Leopard print all-over

It could not have missed a touch of leopard print within Dolce and Gabbana's monochromatic collection. Supermodel Lafaretta walks the runway in total leopard print looks: always with lingerie tones, body-shaping a real K-touch.
