Talk with Paris icon Jeanne Damas: Beauty routines, Trends and her brand "Rouje".

Authentic purism. Two words that immediately come to mind about Jeanne Damas. In a world dominated by Instagram filters and artificial perfectionism, she stands up to it with naturalness. Her credo - "Put on lipstick once and 'C'est parti!" - she celebrates with an incomparable touch of "Parisienne." Born with the DNA of the Seine metropolis, she worked for Jean-Paul Gaultier as a teenager. Later followed her famous Tumblr account, which made her internationally famous. However, it doesn't stop there by a long shot. Her lifestyle brand "Rouje" is currently developing into an absolute powerhouse, redefining lipstick & co with precision and combining it with nonchalant practicality. Individuality and underlining one's own style is the ultimate goal. Quite Parisienne!

How did your "love affair" with lipstick begin?

Jeanne Damas: "I started wearing lipstick when I was a teenager. It's fascinating to change your look with a simple gesture that also gives you confidence. Later, when I started modeling, it quickly became my signature look." 

You created the lipstick "Le Stylo". What was important to you in the process?

Jeanne Damas: "I wanted a matte lipstick that wasn't too drying, easy to apply, and in packaging that looked like a pencil."

What emotionality do you want to evoke in women with Rouje products?

Jeanne Damas: "The idea of Rouje Beauté is to be a very intuitive and creative approach to one's beauty and to emphasize it. Moreover, with the products, you can create your own shade and wear it on lips, cheeks, and even as eye makeup. We are currently working on expanding our range. In June, we will launch the perfect Lip Balm with beautiful shades. More products will follow soon."

The beauty look of Parisian women is currently back in focus a lot. How do you define yours for yourself?

Jeanne Damas: "For me: 'Less is more'. I don't need it too sophisticated in private. A little lipstick, a little mascara in the evening - that's it." 

The best beauty tip you've ever received comes from ...

Jeanne Damas: "... My mother. Use SPF 50 sunscreen year-round and avoid the afternoon sun. You have a classic approach to beauty."

What do you think about trends?

Jeanne Damas: "I like the idea of wearing a kind of uniform every day. And that goes for my beauty routine as well. It takes me five minutes in the morning to be ready. I don't really follow trends, but it's fun to try something now and then. I like to apply makeup with my fingers for a slightly smudged effect."

Is there a beauty tool you love?

Jeanne Damas: "I use my eyelash curler every day to achieve a natural look."

And when it comes to your beauty routine?

Jeanne Damas: "There I prefer to rely on facial oils rather than creams. With facial massage, you can also promote blood circulation this way, and it's incredibly relaxing."

Is there a perfume you use every day?

Jeanne Damas: "I haven't found one yet, because of course, I like fragrances. Like, for example, the scent still almond oil, which I use for my hair in the summer.

And to create your own perfume?

Jeanne Damas: "Good idea! I still have to think about that!"
