Er kam, er sah und er eröffnete sein Spa: Augustinus Bader ist in Wien gelandet

Anyone who invites guests to dinner on a Monday evening in Vienna knows about the charisma of their invitation. Rosewood invited guests to its new "Asaya x Augustinus Bader" spa, where stem-cell luminary Professor Dr. Augustinus Bader was there in person to answer questions about skin ageing and prevention over canapés and freeflow-champagne.

And so the ladies of Viennese society gathered in the spacious foyer of the new Rosewood Vienna, which can be entered through a separate side entrance of the hotel, before going up to the last floor where - surprise! - quite unexpectedly Mr Lugner was already being interviewed by Dominik Heinzl. One would not have expected that at this point ...

One of the few gentlemen in the house, the prominent master builder did not quite fit the profile of the guest list, which included Natascha Traun, Marie Liechtenstein, Angelika Rosam, Isabella Klausnitzer (plus husband), Agnes Husslein and Cecile Fürstenberg as well as the rest of the (mostly female) graces of the city.

When I asked Professor Bader about his personal guest Mr Lugner, he said cheerfully: "Mr Lugner is an old friend of mine and has already enjoyed a nice facial here. I was already with him at the Opera Ball, back then with Melanie Griffith, that was an amusing evening."

Because what many people don't know is that Professor Bader, a researcher with heart and soul as well as a medical doctor and more or less accidental cream manufacturer, also personally sets infusions in his hometown of Leipzig. But only to friends and family. Mr Lugner, of course, enjoys the intravenous fountain of youth, which is supposed to minimise inflammation in the body, which is known to be responsible for all human ills, especially ageing.

"The mood was exuberant, the spa's 4 cabins will surely soon be at full capacity."

When Antonia-Alexa Georgiew (normally the first violin in Salzburg's "Jedermann") took up the violin in the waiting area of the spa to inspire the crowd of guests, Mr. Lugner listened intently before expressing his delight at Augustinus Bader: "You can't tell by looking at me, but in a few days I'll be 90!" When Jackie Wandt Moor (every mother knows her shoe shop in the city centre - Le Petit Chou) said: "You don't look a day over 75."

People nodded, they were happy to see so many familiar faces and talked about "Am Hof 8", the opening of "Iris von Arnim" and the electricity bill.

Monday evening called for casual and cozy but make it chic. So once again the unbeatable combination of Claire Hoyos and Vio König won the sartorial challenge of the evening and set the standard. Due to the mild weather, Missoni was worn one last time, colour was used and, like Caroline Waldburg (PR Grandezza from Munich, who represents the sensational Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, among others), a colourful "Dodo Bar Or" silk dress was worn.

The mood was exuberant, the spa's 4 cabins will surely soon be at full capacity. Because as we know, it's not so much about the treatment itself, but about the active ingredients of the products. And with stem cell researcher Professor Bader - who even got Victoria Beckham herself to write to him on Instagram to set up a cooperation - we are collectively looking forward to the highly anticipated Augustiner Bader Spa in Vienna and the fountain of youth that will result from it.

At the age of 90, the master builder did not miss the opportunity to welcome his Opera Ball friend Augustinus Bader back to Vienna.
