What horoscope is January?
In the sign of the Mountain Goat, Capricorn is an "earthy" cardinal sign. What does this mean? Well, Capricorn-born people are solid, practical people, have the talent to grow into outstanding leaders, and are able to face life's adversities with perseverance. Many would call him a "rock in the surf", for he is not easily ruffled. As an animal of the high mountains, the Capricorn knows where the weights of life lie - were up and down are. Therefore, he is not easily dazzled and has everything under control. Nevertheless, the Capricorn should not be pushed into the corner of the "cold soul" so easily, because behind its façade waits for a profundity that is unparalleled and is also present in the original representation of the zodiac sign. In the past, the zodiac sign was often depicted as a part goat (upper body) and part fish (tail fin). This old symbolism has been lost in recent years. But it is precisely this that is so important for a better understanding of Capricorn.
The mythological side behind it? This is thousands of years old! The constellation of Capricorn is one of the oldest. Already the Sumerians reinterpreted Capricorn as a "goat fish" according to an ancient legend. For the Greeks, this constellation represented the god Pan.
Water, as an element of the unconscious, is essential here. The fish in these ancient representations is said to symbolise the great subconscious available to those born in Capricorn, according to some astrologers. If we translate this into the "real world", we can imagine Capricorn at a party. For example, the deep Capricorn is not comfortable with small talk. Capricorns quickly switch from superficial topics to deep two-eye conversations. Even at noisy parties, the Capricorn manages to withdraw into a corner with a conversation partner and chat there about God and the world.
But that's not all we have to tell about the Capricorn!
The qualities of Capricorn
Capricorn, together with the zodiac signs Taurus and Virgo, is assigned to the element earth. Accordingly, the colour of Capricorn is black and brown. As a reliable contemporary, the Capricorn is very dutiful. Sometimes, however, he exaggerates and becomes rigid in his actions. This can go to the extreme of narrow-mindedness if things don't go so well or if the Capricorn (once again) has only one goal in mind, which he pursues with perseverance. The Capricorn must always be aware of this in order to circumnavigate this characteristic with reflection and to remind himself again and again that there are also other ways of looking at situations.
Secondly, he is an absolute workhorse and this makes him - like his elementary "colleagues" Virgo and Taurus - a star sign who can build up a considerable fortune. This is immediately proven when you look at the list of successful entrepreneurs. Business acrobats such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, shipping legend Aristoteles Onassis, cosmetics entrepreneur Helena Rubinstein (and her rival Elizabeth Arden), or Hilton founder Conrad Nicholson Hilton were all born under the zodiac sign of Capricorn and have created empires with perseverance and discipline.
2020 was THE growth period for Capricorn and 2021 continues!
All three major planetary players (Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto) were in the sign of Capricorn in 2020 and provided a big growth spurt. The universe has had some tests of patience and character in-store and has tested your stamina. As a result, Capricorn-born people have emerged as winners from this difficult year. Why? Because the special discipline of the Capricorn is to never give up and to courageously go his or her own way. The pandemic, on top of everything else, made the Capricorn really come into its own when it came to mastering difficulties. In the end, the year was decisively shaped by this Capricorn stellium (by this one means the position of more than two planets in relation to each other). The basic characteristics of Capricorn were therefore simply required to get through this, but also to necessarily take on responsibility.
And so it continued for the Capricorns in 2021! Saturn, the sign ruler of Capricorn, is the year's ruler. Uranus is also on the "Capricorn" side this year. This means: new tasks await the mountain dwellers and bring long-awaited freedom and independence. And not only materially, but also mentally! A positive side effect of the influence of Uranus is that Saturn is in Aquarius and will therefore be less strict with you. It is very important to say "NO" to your many obligations in a healthy way. This alone will give a real boost to the self-confidence of Capricorns in 2021!
Saturn and Capricorn: How the planet significantly influences the star sign!
Firstly, we need to know that Saturn is the "slowest" planet in our solar system. This also has an important influence on the character of Capricorn. As we have already described in detail above, money, the material, is one of Capricorn's favorite things. To accumulate it is one of his goals in life. But not to show off or brag, but to secure himself and his loved ones. So the "money gene" is there and it wants to be built up in the long term. In principle, Capricorn is not interested in "fast money". And this - mentioned as an example - is also the reason why one orbit of Saturn around the Sun takes 29 years. How so? Well, I'll explain in a moment.
So what is so easily construed as inertia for Capricorn-born people here is actually just their incredible patience. Working for years towards a moment or success? No problem! Constant dripping wears away the stone. This proverb could have come from ibexes. As a "tenaciously" moving celestial star, Saturn patiently strengthens Capricorn's staying power. Even if you are not a Capricorn - you should take your Birth Chart or have it explained by an astrologer - maybe you will find one or the other hint that a Capricorn quality contributes significantly to your character.
But let's get back to Capricorn and Saturn!
Here we find a fascinating parallel to the most famous Tarot, the Rider-Waite Tarot. This divides life, depicted in the stages of the Major Arcana with its 22 cards, into 3 fascinating sections. And now you may guess to whom these stages are also linked: Correct! To three stages of life, which are divided by Saturn. However, before we break out into a hymn of praise, we should also talk about one particular card in the Rider-Waite Tarot that is dedicated to Saturn and the zodiac sign Capricorn: The Devil.
This card is part of the life cycle and affects some more, some less. However, it represents the excessive urge to control, to possess. This can also develop into an addiction that focuses too much on material needs. The Devil card in the Rider-Waite Tarot is therefore also an indication that Capricorn can often lack a certain lightness. If he or she is aware of this, it is easier to counteract it. What do we mean by this? Well - how about leaving work for tomorrow? A spontaneous visit to the coffee house with a group of friends? Yes, even if you still have things to do.
The reason I am suggesting this to you here is this: the "problem area" of a Capricorn's body may be related to the skeleton and bones. Why? Well, it stands for the petrification or - in the truest sense of the word - the ossification of the Capricorn, who can then sometimes suffer from severe back pain and tension. Why? Because there is something else out there! Love! Joy! And not just work.
We might as well take another look at the devil card: The devil is the driver behind addiction. He incites, instills fear. And this fear quickly gets into the bones of those born in Capricorn. (Ha! Here's that word again.) Not achieving one's goals - this thought can be very, very unpleasant for Capricorns, almost unbearable. Dear Capricorns, don't let yourself be chased by the darkness of your fear. That could turn out fatally. It's easier with a partner by your side who shows you how to live the easy life - but you have to be able to commit to it.
This is what Capricorn planet Saturn means in the houses of the horoscope
The horoscope is generally structured into different houses. There are 12 in total, each representing a different characteristic in our lives. This goes from communication to love, from financial talent to self-confidence, perception of the self and the world. Like any other sign of the zodiac, Saturn, the planet of Capricorn, also influences these houses. What it means if you have a "house in the sign of Capricorn", we explain here.
- House, house of personality: Capricorn in your first house means that you like to be useful and are practical.
- House, house of possessions: Capricorn in your second house means that you are frugal with personal finances. As a resourceful person, you can manage with little and know how to increase it.
- House, house of communication: Capricorn in your third house means that you are known for your rhetorical skills. Clear structures in communication are yours. In general, you always seem to find the right words.
- House, House of the Family: Capricorn in your fourth house means that aesthetically you are a minimalist ascetic. Large structures and conservative forms are yours. This also generally applies to your worldview. You uphold family traditions and discipline is very important to you.
- House, house of creativity and joy: Capricorn in your fifth house means that you appreciate the wisdom of older people, are attracted to them, and generally like to set long-term goals for yourself.
- House, House of Everyday Life: Capricorn in your sixth house means that you treat your body with discipline. This may involve dieting as well as your exercise routine. In everyday life, you tend to have less fun with your routine, but you still approach it with commitment.
- House, house of relationship and partnership: Capricorn in your seventh house means that you like to have a mature, older partner and also look at the status in society by which you define yourself with marriage. You want an equal, ambitious partner who approaches things pragmatically and feels very committed to the tradition of marriage.
- House, house of transformations and backstory - also "house of secrets": Capricorn in your eighth house means that there are probably deep shadows in your own life here, perhaps related to family secrets, betrayal, deceit and infidelity. You should solve and clear this own karma in the course of your life and for a positive further development!
- House, House of Faith and Knowledge: This area of life is associated with the sign Sagittarius and is closely related to the area of philosophy, morality and spirituality. The latter is something that Capricorn must first examine to the foundation as a subject area for itself. All that is too esoteric and basically, that which is rationally "unprovable" is difficult for him to grasp but represents a life task precisely for you!
- House, house of career: Here Capricorn is in his element and the house is also dedicated to Capricorn! Capricorn in the tenth house means that you have an extreme focus on your professional environment. Getting ahead is important to you. The "how" is determining. Be careful not to fall into workaholism!
- House, house of community, and vision of the future: Capricorn feels constantly committed to the community, but often has a hard time with too many innovations and too wacky trends. He likes to keep traditional and does everything not to stand out too much and doesn't want to lose face and status in society. You may become more tolerant of all innovations and changes!
- House, house of spirituality and imagination: Equipped with sensitivity and sensitive antennae for all moods and energies, a Capricorn often finds himself in a personal dilemma and a real tightrope act. It is important to keep a healthy distance, especially from other people, but to remain helpful and not lose your grounding. Nevertheless, in this position, you should not close yourself off too much to the "supernatural".
Ideal zodiac sign partners for the Capricorn
Pisces, Taurus and Virgo - these are particularly popular pairings in the Capricorn world. In matters of love, the Capricorn can - contrary to his/her image - also become very romantic, but he/she is always pragmatic and therefore also looks for reliable partners who understand him/her and are not scared away by the ambitious will for recognition and career, but have his/her back.
