Never seen photos of the British royal family go on auction

The photos depict Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh on vacation by the look of photographer Sir Frederick Browning between the years 1940 and 1950. The images, which today belong to Daphne du Maurier, Browning's wife, will be auctioned on the 27th April, at the Rowley auction, along with 300 more pieces of personal correspondence.

Brownning was a close friend of the uncle of the Duke of Edinburgh who served the Royal House before Princess Elizabeth II was crowned Queen, it is no wonder that his wife had images as rare as these.


In one of the photos, the young couple - Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh - are picnicking, in another, they are on a luxury yacht. Others were taken in the castle of Balmoral, with photos of Prince Charles and Princess Anne children, playing. Check out the pictures:
